Josh Tynan Injured

If an inordinate amount of players were going down with soft tissue injuries you may have a point... but they're not.

Do the bloody research first before casting aspersions.

How much research have you done on overtraining?

See below for injuries which can be caused from over-training

1. Runner's knee

2. Stress fractures

3. Iliotibial band syndrome, a.k.a. ITBS

4. Shin splints

5. Plantar fasciitis

6. Achilles tendonitis

7. Muscle Pulls

8. Ankle sprains

9. Blisters

Honestly.. It is very hard to address this without breaking demonland rules. i find the content of your posts very average on a consistent basis.

Do you criticize the post? Yes

Do you suggest an answer to the question "Why does every MFC player get injured in there first 2 years stunting there development?" No

Here's an answer:

Because the vast majority of AFL players do not go through 2 years without suffering some sort of injury.

It's a tough game and people get hurt.

There are preventative measures that can be taken for soft tissue injuries but they are no guarantee, and there's not too much anyone can do about collision injuries.

Its frustrating that our players do seem to spend a fair chunk of time on the injured list. I wonder how many are niggles and how many are injuries that actually prevent them from playing? Beeing held back by medico's would be frustrating i reckon, i wonder how many players dont present to the fitness team with niggles inorder to keep some continuity in their season?!

Please put the names of the players that were stunted in their growth due to the above you have mentioned

I was simply wondering why we haven't seen a decrease in injuries since hiring Misson. Misson's job is, amongst other things, to reduce injuries by buiding up fitness bases and helping to control and monitor loads. I never claimed the club or Misson were responsible for the injuries, I just made an observation. I never claimed a sports science background.

You got mighty worked up about a 2 line statement. I hope your blood stops boiling from my 'uninformed snipes'.

This Keyboard Hero is done with this discussion.

Freo are having similar problems with soft tissue injuries, Ross Lyon was discussing it the other day regarding increased training loads when he was at St Kilda and the soft tisue being a short term side affect before the bodies get used to the demands and increased workloads

so you would rather a Colin Sylvia running around as a 25 yr old who had his development stunted due to constant injury (or sensible and cautious approach) rather then a Dustin Martin.

I know who i would prefer on the list out of those 2

maybe its this type of approach which is why MFC is getting ripped apart on the field. i would rather have players who want to play with injuries rather then ones who always need a 'sensible and cautious approach'

maybe its just another example of why people call the mfc soft

The cautious approach is to AVOID chronic problems like Sylvia's. You're contradicting yourself.

Gysberts - broken ankle

Grimes - back stress fractures, navicular hot spot, shoulder

Taggert - back stress fractures a la Grimes

Evans - back

Cook - hip

Bail - PCL

Jetta - hip, shoulder, ankle

Tapscott - hip

None of them soft tissue injuries (in the main) - the majority are either collision injuries, stress injuries or due to genetic makeup.

Get it right before casting aspersions.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
