blaming long time loyal supporters is just rubbish dl

winning more games will attract more 'grand-stander' type supporters but will not increase the 'quality' of supporters

the problems with the mfc (and there has/is been many) need to be sorted out by the mfc and not the supporters in general

it's a pointless argument that will lead you nowhere

I'm saying we all are a part of the Soft Environment,,, that spoils almost every player who comes to Melbourne.

We round off all the tenacious parts of the Hunters, and turn them out model choir boys.

This is a bizarre viewpoint. What do you want us all to do ... attend training sessions and scream at Cale Morton to HTFU from over the fence?

We pay our dues, attend games and occasionally write letters, phone the club and rant and rave on supporter websites. What more can we do??

Also, let's not make the mistake of consigning ALL of the past 47 years into the same basket of crapola. Okay we didn't win a flag, but there were at least some exciting times for Melbourne fans during the Northey, Daniher and even Balme eras.

The Bailey/Prendergast/Cameron 'era of ritual floggings' is another matter altogether ... and should be treated in isolation for the descent into hell that it was.

Nothing so dramatic RR.

Just to think about how not to spoil them when they're just starting. Not to pump the tyres up undeservedly.

To be more vocally passionate @ games less polite clapping, & more Overt Cheering. Call a spade a spade, If they short step let 'Em Know it... Like when they deserve a Booing, let the individual know about a weak hearted effort. To stamp this sort of thing out.

We can do a lot IF were prepared to try to change the culture of the player, the playing group, & Us, the Club... Our Values re what we want a MFC Footballer to Be...

Only give the young ones boiled lollies, Until the can really play, then they can have a chocolate...

Obviously you don't want to see it, or you don't understand it.

We all contribute to a collective Environment, 'The Atmosphere' we create at games & anywhere we go to watch our Boys. We can give, to cheaply, the appreciation, the accolades, stilting the desire to improve, of our Young...

Yes they need encouragement,,,, but not, "Well done, you've made it Son". Heres an invitation to a cheap car,,,, my card...

The feel, in the atmosphere can subliminally 'Give Away' our pleasure, & if we give it 'too cheaply', the players will subconsciously recognise it. This can lead them to ease up mentally. Become satisfied too easily.

Changing the Clubs Culture can't be done by the Coach & footy dept alone. We all have to buy in & learn to understand a little.

Mate you are talking to deaf old ears - the kids have deserted us in droves (& have been for years) the "next generation" dont want to listen to their negativity.

Just continue to stay positive, support our CLUB, support our players, support our Footy department, support our Admin, support our board.

Should someone leave we will continue to wish them well (we will continue to support them as a sign they are welcome back anyday)

WE will not spread or support ignorant disrespectful rumours about ex-employees.

Cheers

It's not the posters on Demonland that have turned the young against supporting the club, IT'S THE 47 YEARS WITHOUT A FLAG.

Do you understand that or are you really that stupid?

FYI nor will we by not accepting the truth of the situation that our recruiting has been sub standard and our current list is appalling.

Once you accept the reality of the situation Dr, you can do something about it, but if you don't you just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over.

Our performance today was abysmal and it's not just a new game plan it's the fact we don't have the personal to implement it, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Do you really think young kids that support Melbourne will change because of a rumour that BP was sacked, not likely. It's more likely that they are smart enough to realise that he has stuffed up his job and they are glad he's gone.

You should really have a look at a game every now and then and maybe you'll come to the same realisation.

I see you believe in Tonic as well, how charming and so very quaint.

Absolute rubbish - if I had a choice of listening to the Carlton Football Club (clearly they dont think its our recruiting or they would never have employed our recruiting manager) or your continually clearly wrong negative rants. CFC is what I will listen too.

They (CFC) clearly see the big picture. I'm sure the MFC clearly see the big picture. But sadly some negative supporters cant.

Well FFS give everyone on here a break and go and listen to them, give them the benefit of your less than stimulating crap, my guess is they'll ask you to leave fairly quickly. Have you ever actually been to a game of AFL football?

It's enough to make you weep. Thanks Barry.

"I saw Darling play at the weekend and I was super-impressed. He can really play", said Carey.

His whole aim was to hit the pack hard, take the pack with him, and take the ball to ground for the smaller Eagles players ... He really crunches the pack, almost hurts himself every time - he attacks the footy as well as anyone as I have seen."

Nooooooooooooooo - please don't start this again. BP got it right. CFC got it right about BP. MFC didn't get it right about BP. Darling has no upside, Cook was all U18 AA and in 7 years time will repay BPs faith. We don't need another hero. We don't need to know the way home. Please mods shut it down before i go crazy.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
