Good, I was wondering how Dunn found himself in the 18...

I won't be surprised if he's in.

He will be either on the bench or sub (either Dunn or Bennell)... a definite I would have thought.

Backs: Bennell, Sellar, Garland, Grimes, Frawley, Bartram

Mids: Jamar, Green, Moloney, Trengove, Jones, Magner, Couch, Bail, Bate

Forwards: Howe, Martin, Dunn, Davey, Clark, Petterd

Sub: Watts

It's a toss up between Bennell/Rivers, Bail/Nicholson and Davey/Blease,

The only reason I haven't selected McKenzie is because he hasn't had enough pre-season.

I think Gysberts might have to continue to show a bit more at Casey.

It's obvious that midfield severely lacks pace but it does have plenty of grunt.

Happy with that side - it's the obvious best available 25 at this point. Grimes is presumably on the extended bench pending fitness. Don't think Bennell or Tynan will be in the side - Watts, Magner, Bail, Couch and Nicholson will fight for the last three spots, with my preference being in that order.

isn't nicholson still a rookie?

When i saw Bartram, Bate and Dunn all starting i think i began to have heart palpatations!!

No way all three will be in the starting lineup.

I really hope that Gysberts steps up this year. Apparently he was fantastic in the Casey game. He is all class.

I agree. I'm fully in rpfc's camp with regards to opinion on Dunn, but at this very early stage of the year and with the players available, I expect he'll be in. As the year goes on I think (hope) the likes of Morton, Tapscott and obviously Sylvia will put extreme pressure on his place.

Err, yeah. I'd just assumed that that FS side was a genuine one from the club, so I just assumed I must've missed something re: Nicholson. Didn't realise it was a work of fiction.

I thought Couch was good on Saturday at stopping the opposition take control at clearances but he doesn't "create" much.

Jeez, that'll do me right now.

Btw, there was 21 teams named in various ways on this thread and 20 of the 21 had Davey's name listed. He wasn't in mine. I'll spew up if he plays next week.

Thats all good and well but we need to replace him with some pace. We can't close the game down at Subi, we couldn't yesterday at the G. WCE will cut our slow team to ribbons on the wide expanses of Pattersons.

Im not even sure I can bring myself to watch it.....

Yes and Davey has such a good record against West Coast:

Im not against dropping him. I just want to know who comes in for him? I want to drop 20 of the blokes running around yesterday but who would replace them?

I like Bennell as a forward but it seems the new coaching staff see him as a defender.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
