As I said earlier, I am definitely boycotting this show. Channel 9 have done some good things with unfortunate passing of Jim so I want to send them an email to explain. Perhaps if Jason donates all his money to Reach along with a published advertisement paid by him acknowledging he is a twit, I may change my mind.

Was he born a turd or is it something he had to work on?

He's been studying PyleS andilllands & his shocking Jocks... Talentless turds who live off False pretenses.

He was very calm and blatant about how he felt about the comments, and basically told Aker that what he said has virtually ended his career. No voice raising, no bull. Just said it like it was. I actually found the whole thing quite eerie.

Aker went on to make excuses, saying that he missed his mum and how, at that time in the morning (that the comments were said) he has a daughter asking him for food, and he has to get her ready for creche etc etc etc. These excuses were met with no sympathy, and they just ended the call, took some comments, and then declared the subject done and dusted (on air, at least).

That sounds like the best possible response. No screaming, or getting baited by him, just explaining the future repercussions of his actions and claiming the subject finished. I would like to follow that example.

What is Akers career again , dial-a-dumb-quote ?

Beats me why this idiot gets air time. What an obnoxious, insensitive little [censored].

Why would the Herald Sun even publish this tripe?

It just proves that freedom of speech is wasted on some people.

No mention of it on The Age online, hope they decide to let the Hun run with it alone and observe hun writers pumping

up Akers publicity machine.

Bad timing Aker.

Too bad also I was going to relaunch the "$cully lied to Jimmy" coments in the Hun blog but I am boycotting until this blows over.

Aker is going to get touched up everywhere he goes, bad luck bucketmouth

I think we need to find out any company he still writes oppinions for or gets on their radio station to give his oppinions and write to them demanding his sacking!

I think their Sponsors will take care of that.

IF their sponsors are at all half decent.

Interesting how quickly people came to the defence of Matt Rendell yet jump all over Akermanis. Both probably said something they wished they hadn't and both sets of comments should be looked at in context. If the quotes attributed to Aker in the Sportsnewsfirst article are correct, the 'nasty' quote appears to refer to what might otherwise be called 'on field mongrel' - something many posters are clamouring for more of from our current players. However, the bit about questioning the State funeral seems completely foot in mouth.

Aker also suffers from being a repeat offender. On balance, he has created animosity he didn't need to do by speaking when he shouldn't have. But how do we think Jim himself would have reacted? Probably with a smile and a comment something like, "Well, that's just Aker. It doesn't worry me". So perhaps we shouldn't give it the time of day, either.

Dee-luded he's already been sacked by one more to follow? Hope they put him in a room and told him "your fired" just like what I'm sure will happen on celebrity apprentice

He apologized completely. Said he didn't mean to attack Jim, but rather questioned why other good people didn't get as much publicity and a state funeral. Said Jim was a great guy who did a lot of good work. That he was terribly sorry and that he was stupid to say what he did. Move on.

There you go - apologised for what he said (individually you can all take it or leave it - I choose my original position: apathy) and was given the boot from his show. Nothing more to discuss here.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
