Reckon after Davey's performance as the small forward on the weekend there's still hope for Nev yet. If he can get back and play some decent games as the small forward late in the season and manage to chase, tackle, keep the ball in our forward 50 and kick a couple of goals there'a a chance for him yet.

Good to see Nev has been upgraded on the injury list from indefinite to 4-6 weeks.

Hopefully he gets a chance to show his worth before seasons end.

I feel the way he plays fits in well with Neeld’s footy philosophy.

I've always seen more in Nev Jetta than in Jamie Bennell, and it's just a shame that he hasn't been able to get on the park.

Only problem with your suggestion is that Jetta is not a small forward and never has been...

We must get Nicholson and magner onto the senior list. Its also going to be a busy draft that we need to make room for. Unfortunately there are going to be some sacrifices and jetta is most likely to be one. It would be great if they could make him a rookie and give him a chance

That Bennell and Jetta were from the same club (or was it opponents in a WA grand final?), drafted one after the other, and were good friends and rivals in their junior career always puts the two of them together in my mind.

I find it interesting (but probably spurious, really) that each of them seems to have all the strengths thag the other lacks. Jetta doesn't seem to have the damaging power that Bennell (sometimes) has, while Bennell lacks the mongrel and tackling effort that I see coming from Jetta.

Real shame for Jetta, I had really hoped to se him develop this season and find out how he goes. I definitely haven't written him off as an AFL player but as other's have pointed out, we're looking at four early picks and thn whatever else comes through, lined up for the alleged deep/super/amazing/fantabuloso/mega draft of awesomeness.

I would reckon that Neville Jetta's AFL career isn't quite over, but he's not likely to see next season at the Demons. I can even envisage him spending a season or two of WAFL and one day coming back to AFL as a mature, tough player 'picked for purpose'. May even slip into a strong team looking for a top-up.

But right now, al I've got is best wishes for the so far unlucky kid.

I guess if Neeld sees him as a tough player who obeys orders, then he is in with a chance. Pity he isn't as quick as his South Melbourne Sydney namesake.

I'd look to put Jetta on the rookie list next year. I believe that despite his lack of size and pace he's got attributes at a coach like Neeld would love like commitment to the contest, and by all reports has a good head on his shoulders. I've never been a huge fan, but I'm keeping an open mind because of the attributes he does have, rather than the ones he doesn't.

Just a shame the season will be just about up before he gets his chance to show Neeld what he's got, and we've got quite a bit of list clearing that needs to be done to fit in the next intake of talent. That's why I'd consider him for the rookie list.

I agree Nasher.

I think in limited game time, Neville has shown at times that he can actually be very effective.

I'd like to see him get a bit more time to prove himself, injury permitting.

Would fit neelds mould perfectly. Pity he has been injured so often, probably means he will have to be delisted and then rookies or traded.

I really like Jetta

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
