iv'a worn smith 1,979 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 And LJ has more surgery. I can't f'ing believe this.
Grimes Times 1,278 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Having done 5 shoulder dislocations in my footy so far.. only 22 .. it doesnt look like a dislocation more just a stinger or a sublax. Sublax shouldnt be more then a few weeks, all it is when he hit the ground the shoulder would have moved in the socket a bit and goes a stiff and you can't lift your shoulder above your head. I would be very suprised if the physio was doing that on the ground if he actually dislocated it or broke the collar bone. The collar bone break normally sticks out and they would know right away. I am thinking this was just a minor impact injury and afl.com.au getting all up and about cause they had people there watching training. If I am right, expect him back for round 1 at the latest. Having had two shoulder reco's myself I agree with above, although I'm no doctor.
olisik 4,060 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Wonder how many more seasons this guy can miss until the Dees de-list
GawnWithTheWind 604 Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 Wonder how many more seasons this guy can miss until the Dees de-list You realise he is the captain, yeh? They wouldnt delist this guy until he was 50

Good summation, we just have to wait for Pringle or others to comment further.Rotten luck all the same.
SJX 6 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Just personal opinion, but having a look at those photos, not much in it. He'll be right to go Rd. One.
Dr. Mubutu 867 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Maybe he'd have better luck if he followed the path of the original Grimey and grabbed some 20,000V cables?
simma02 53 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 isnt Missons job to make sure our injury list is reduced? to be honest it dosn't look any shorter then last year... Nothing Misson can do about impact collisions like Grimes had and wrist injury that Jurrah has. Same goes with Spencer and Gawn. These sorts of injuries can't be helped - it's just a case of bad luck.
simma02 53 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 This really does suck! Hopefully it's not too bad.
Roos can't lose 43 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Interesting tidbit when reading afl report that Melbourne club doctor Dan Bates attended to him. That is first reference I could see to replacement for our previous crew
jnrmac 20,385 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I love the fact that Bleese still took the mark despite close attention from Grimes and Davis. And the fact we have co-captains. Smart move that....
rpfc 29,030 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 And the fact we have co-captains. Smart move that.... Dees Fan #1: So Trengove is Captain? Dees Fan #2: Nah, he'll be Co-Captain with Grimes. Dees Fan #1: So Trengove is Captain? I kid, I kid...
Bring-Back-Powell 15,567 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 So LJ hurt his wrist in Rd 23 last year, and it's still not right! Talk about a shambles.
demon minded 1 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 SEN reported that they are fairly confident it is not a dislocated or broken shoulder/collarbone so hopefully just a stinger, he is due for some luck!
old dee 24,084 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Funny but I always consider Grimes a "bonus" player When attempting to see how I think we will go over a year I never include him in my calculations. If we get 6- 7 games then they are a bonus. It is just disappointing that it has happened so early in the year in 2012. Does not really effect where the Dees will finish IMO. Of course in the long term I don't know how you can have a captain who does not get onto the park.

I kid, I kid... Unfortunately you are very close to the mark. This weekend it looks like Frawley? Green may get the job back!
Samsara 65 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 We always seem to have terrible luck in the pre-season. It is an absolutely painful few months before the H&A season starts. And we are now without Jurrah for at least a month too. Bleh.
daisycutter 30,022 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 isnt Missons job to make sure our injury list is reduced? to be honest it dosn't look any shorter then last year... i always feel uplifted after reading your posts olisik
olisik 4,060 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 You realise he is the captain, yeh? They wouldnt delist this guy until he was 50 it was a theoretical, and i dont think any team would keep a player whose injured more then 5 years straight
olisik 4,060 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 The $1000 a year you speak of helps keep the club competitive and to be able to pay top $ for coaches. But if you would rather give that money to Rupert Murdoch it is your choice. But it is plain to see you do not have a true passion for the club. It also helps pays for Missus Clarks studies
GawnWithTheWind 604 Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 It also helps pays for Missus Clarks studies Isn't she doing medicine? Club doctor in 10 years? Its an investment :D
Sir Why You Little 37,478 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 It also helps pays for Missus Clarks studies What??
GawnWithTheWind 604 Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 Grimes walking off in a sling is a scare though, lets hope its minor.
old dee 24,084 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Grimes walking off in a sling is a scare though, lets hope its minor. With Grimes it hardly ever is!
