.

I believe Mr Burgundy was refering to the money saved by not overpaying Scully would have allowed us to pitch for Clark By memory we are paying close to 100% of our cap this year so it would be unlikely that we could afford both.

I think we actually sit at around the minimum 92% but are paying 100% by way of bringing forward payments.

So we may have been able to afford both...though I am not sure we would have wanted to.

Getting Mitch Clark had nothing to do with Scully leaving. We still have the compo picks we got for him and would still have had the money for both of them.

We pay near 100% of the cap by frontloading contracts, so when Schwab says we are paying 90% in real terms it doesn't mean we can just go out and spend big on someone like Clark.

We used the salary destined for HWFUA on Clark and we wouldn't have him if HWFUA stuck around.

Off to the pit each morning. 6 years long.

Six years is the time Leigh Matthews indicated rin this Sydney Daily Telegraph item from last week -

Leigh Mathews forecasts at least six years of pain for GWS fans

Six years of pain = Voldemort's six year contract.

One can only wonder how things will unfold over that time.

damn it...now i have to get a new birth month!

My wife is expecting in May - better tie her legs together...

Trengove turns 21 in September, Scully is 21 in May.

Cheers Warren, I did look it up and buggered up! Best part is it was reported this morning he's not going to be captain and Filthy Phil Davis is going to be a joint captain with Ward and Power.

He's now on the same level as Setanta O'Hailpin, what a fantastic achievement. Let's hope he does something that pisses the Irishman off.

The Irishman tells the HUN today that $cully is as good as Ju$$.

Tom Scully just like Chris Judd, says Setanta O'hAilpin

Let's hope not.

Wow, 3 captains and Scully couldn't get a gig, does anyone actually know why?

I wonder if he is regretting his decision already.

Maybe the offer was - Captaincy or .........................we give your Dad a 6 year job for doing nothing ( 680k ) , your sister a lifetime supply of fake tanning cream and all the free haicuts you like at "Blind man Bob's barber's"

Cheers

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
