I dont mind th eidea/concept of a Byrnnes type. I think too many people are shooting for the moon.

Currently we're just the other side of crap. We arent going to turn into a take-on-all -killer type for a few seasons yet. Theres a path to this and it will be paved with many a 2-3 year stint of deccent capable journeymen types. They will fill a role, then move on...and the next comes in or is developed from within etc.

This cat could do a role quite well. Certainly combine well with a few others to fire up the middle and get some good decisions happening out of the midfield.

He's not stellar....but hes pretty bloody good on his day

Bit like Scotland at Carlton, not a star but they certainly got a lot of value out of him since he crossed over from Collingwood. It's amazing how a change of scenery can make a player perform so much better, especially if he is a bigger cog in a smaller engine.

That's the one, where Murphy finished around 5th having missed half the season.

Finally landed a 28 year old forward pocket that wasn't in the best 22 in a team that finished 7th and no one else was after them. What a steal.

If I may balance post, I'm happy enough because he'll play that position better than anyone we currently have.

Happy with this pick up.

Experience, pace and comes from a good culture.

Just the type of player we need n the short term. Look forward to what he can bring to the table!

Yeah, he will play it better than no-one.

Because that is who we have had play small forward this year.

he will be an ideal pick up for us as we don't have any small, fast, crubing forwards and he ticks everyone of those boxes :) he brings a large amount of experience (dual preiership player) and he is also coming from a winning culture which is an invaluable trait and he can hopefully give our young players an idea of what they have to put in to make it at this level!

He's like an un-freakish Moorcroft. Oh well, didn't lose much.

Im happy, i think he will be good value for us for a couple of yrs. Give the kids someone to look up too and doubt he would be costing us much... Go Dees!!!

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
