I think you're possibly missing the point.

The purpose wouldn't really be to inform supporters.

It's just another avenue through which to promote the club and it's message.

And some people and media outlets will give more credence to a tweet supposedly by our coach, as opposed to our media manager.

Huh? supporters don't want to know what the media wants to know???? You've been listening to Sheedy too much.

I just wouldn't want to be a coach with a twitter account after the Geelong game. As H_T said it might be different with a 20-2 win ratio

Did Norm Smith use Twitter?

The point is it is a useless distraction, I can only see negativity coming from it. But if he wants to do Twitter he has every right to.

Neeld may have a twitter account, but it won't be him twittering. It's a spin. Someone will sit there and follow a tree diagram on how to answer everything as per club policy.

No complaints either. Twitter is no place for a coach.

That's even more dangerous than having the coach tweet. I've got no problem with Neeld on twitter. Malthouse seems to have managed a regular radio gig just fine. If he starts being on 24/7 then I'll complain!

Come on that's really just a silly comment. You cannot compare people from completely different decades and ways of life and say one did this.

Today football is as much about keeping the external happy as the internal and unlike the old days it's not a sport it's a business. Following your point, I can guarantee when Norm Smith was around there was no people bitching about Debt Demolition or posting on forums- nor was there 6 football shows per week watched by millions critiquing his each and every move.

Neeld is positioning himself to best create an environment where us as supporters feel like we are connected to the club.

We all know he won't be posting gameplans so what is the problem?

This will test the intelligence and civility of our supporter base.. Demonland often sinks to depths by people who know little about football and positive communication. What a great opportunity we have. We can make it work or we can shoot ourself in the foot. Are we all so dumb that we can not respect our coach and add to a good club ethos?

Norm Smith also didn't use video review, GPS and Champion Data. Should we get rid of that crap, too?

Video review, GPS and Champion data is useful..

They're just tools, as is the Twitter-machine. They all have different functions, that's all.

Yeah but one provides us with critical data which we can make observations from, the other is a sounding board for sociopaths and potential rapists..

I often think that there really isn't that much to know about football and that there are some real lynament sniffers here who think they are Teddy Whitten just because they heard this or that .It's a simple game ,with ability and confidence closely related .A good coach will strip away the BS and get things happening simply.A bad one will complicate things and find complicated reasons to fail .

Now that's not fair. I won't have you denegrating the good folks at Champion Data like that.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
