Demons on Toyota AFL Footy Bus

Hi,

I'm a longtime reader and first time poster!

I live in Gippsland and teach at a school in Sale and wanted to let you know that Jack Watts and Aaron Davey are currently touring around schools as part of a Toyota AFL Footy Bus. They are with Patrick Dangerfield, Lindsay Gilbee, Simon Goodwin, Chris Newman and BT hosting. Good for the kids to get up close to the players, get autographs and pictures with the premiership cup. Watts came out with arms raised and did a few superhero poses. He had a good laugh with the others as they all took the [censored] out of each other. I am sure you would be happy that I wore my demons jumper and fought kids to get to the front of the line to get both of them to sign it as well as a footy for my son. Both talked about how keen they are to work with the new coach and have a big 2012.

Great to have some Demons players come down but it does mean that they are not playing FINALS!!

Hi MD!

I'm in Traralgon myself great to see a good following of Gippslanders here on Demonland!

Back to the OP, I think these types of tours are a great idea. Especially being outside of metro areas as our contact with the game at it's elite level is usually left to what we see on TV.

Would be great if the Dees could bring some of their following our way. Melbourne Supporters in the Latrobe Valley seem like Hens teeth!

I teach in Churchill and the kids were pumped to get to meet afl players. One of our aides is a Melbourne lass and she nearly died when davey came out of the bus. I now call her the teenage groupie. Anyway jack came to us (in our Melbourne jumpers) and gave her a hug and shook my hand. Said he was very excited for the future. Also answered a kids question about the best thing about afl with something along the lines of, it's great playing with your mates and celebratingfterwards with your mates. Haha take that Tom scully!

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
