Sylvia and Davey suspended

Sylvia's season is over unless he challenges successfully, as he's copped two weeks with an early plea.

Davey got one with the early plea. Would have been dropped, anyway...

Head says no point contesting the Syvlia one, heart says do it.

Actually I think this is OK.

It's time to send players with stiff Joints and in need of repair, to pasture.

This Is Now our time to see next years boys.

1/ C'mon Tommy McDonald. 2/ C'mon Troy Davis. 3/ Give Maric another run. 4/ Play Gawn a gain. 5/ Give little Jett-a Go.

1/ Rest Howe @ Casey for the finals? 2/ Give Garland a rest. 3/ Col out Susp'. 4/ Rest the Russian. 5/ Aaron out Susp' or Dropped.

C'mon, Lets see 'Em...

I'm surprised.

Sylvia's was high but he was just trying to give a bit to richmond. Was unlucky to get him high. Thought it deserved a week for recklessness.

Davey was fired up and lined the player up and raised an elbow, clearly trying to hit Morton in the head. Only gets one week.

Actually looking at the points now and Sylvia got a 30% increase due to a bad record, so an early doesn't reduce the weeks at all.

Silly not to challenge it, then.

I agree UTAH. Have no issue with either of em going for a trip, but absolutely reckon they got the penalties the wrong way round. It is the MRP though, and let's face it, their known for their consistency as much as Colin Sylvia B)

Im confused, granted Sylvia got him late and a touch high but it was a half hearted bump, you could see Post wait until he was sure of a whistle then he bobbed up....Waters of WC, opted not to go for the ball and collected Watson with force enough to knock him out and render him ineffective for the remainder of the game..(unsure if he came back on). He may not have meant it, but he did it. I was convinced Waters would get weeks.

The MRP is a joke. Their only consistencies are their inconsistency and the confusion they cause week-in, week-out.

Did anyone else catch the Richmond player giving Watts a cheap elbow to the breadbasket? If it had been caught on vision I have no doubt the dog would be gone for a week.

So I guess Sylvia's possible last game for MFC was a bit of a cracker.

sorry..this gave me a chuckle..

drier than a London gin ..lol

LOL - me too. At least he went out with a bang. Thanks for the memories (and the hanger) Col!

Can we do a swap?, give Sylvia Davey's contract and let Davey walk :)

it was Titch Edwards.....and Jack wasnt too happy at all getting a cheap one to the ballsies. Jordie Mc saw it happen also and was giving a bit of push and shove over it. fk i love Jnr Jnr.

I'm thrilled that two of our guys got suspended and another got fined. It's the first sign this season that there's some fight in this team. Davey may have had a terrible game, but at least he cared enough to clobber someone. It's this sort of atitude that needs to become more prevalent in our side if we want to improve.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
