Bad season for the Indigenous players

On a number of threads on Demonland the subject of player performance gets raised.

without exception a large number of people defend those being discussed.

Now there is nothing wrong with having a varying view.

Except that a common theme appears

i.e They are not playing badly just down a bit this season or last few games.

Well guess what we have so far had 7 losses by 9+ goals

We have been beaten the last three weeks by 9 , 31 and 12 goals.

We only have 3 good players on the injury list.

Why cannot people see we have a large number of players that are not up to the task.

And some of them may never be.

They cannot all be going ok.

I dont need to tell you ...do I ?? :)

Love your passion old dee, but if 60% of your senior school football team is in year 9, its very difficult to win the premiership. Look out when they all hit year 11 and year 12 even better. Stay the course.

Harry O and Nik Nat are not indigenous. You are getting befuddled by skin tones.

Add Rodan to that he's Fijian.

Seems the Captain is only concerned with Colour, whitey.

I knew someone would pick that up -very culturally sensitive .

So we kick those guys out of the team because of where they were born ?

What about Morton the Token ?

All of the "brothers" have had injuries or some personal issues off field.

I think all are worth a roster spot, and can all improve on 2011.

Look forward to seeing all of them playing good footy next year.

My only concern is over Wonnas ability to come back. I think he will be alright.

I understand there's a double standard when heaping praise... but really, if you're going to have a discussion about soft small forwards, Maric has done enough to deserve a mention here.

It's about soft small forwards ? Jurrah isn't small.

Fair argument, but 303 games, played alongside some great players in Lockett, Hall, erm Nick Daffy :) (kidding !!) but coached by Barassi, Roos, Eade. I suspect thats a fair pedigree... not to mention a premiership!

It's all speculation here of course, Whelan is a hard nut for sure, but is still one of our "old boys" which is a little bit too close to home at the moment, I think our club should bring experience and knowledge in from what other clubs do and learn from them as well.

O'Loughlin is a beauty, absolutely. Our boys have the skill, & Whelan would understand the game as much as Micky O'. But Whelan was/is a hard Nut, & that is needed @ Melbourne in bucketloads atmo.

with Jetta & Lawrence coming through, & Aussie Wonnaemirri @ the crossroads, I reckon they would really look up to Matty.and so would we all. Matty more than Bled for the Jumper.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
