Some good points here.

I don't want to appear pedantic, but it would help if we all got the spelling of Garry Lyon's first name correct.

It's Garry not Gary

Now back on topic.

It's good to see him finally get involved.

In many ways it's a pity it took a crisis to get his "support".

Jimmy and the club have needed it for some time.

So, after making a myestrious phone call to set Jim straight, after Bailey has been dismissed ans Schwab offered a last minute one year extention, Garry is going to "thrash out" the issues with his mates (i.e. the most significant figures left at the club) in the hopes of finding a "resolution."

And why is he qualified to do this exactly? Beacause he use to play for us? Because he is on the telly? Beacause he is friends with all of them?

It is sure as hell not because he intends to stick it out and see things through.

This is a farce. Worst of all, there may be no better realistic option.

You will get over it Hazy....Garry is reminded of the MFC every morning when he wakes up, courtesy of his bad back, so give him a chance....The President asked for his help, and he said he will.

We know you don't like anything post Gardiner.....

With all due respect thats its what you do when your "mates" are in trouble ... you get in there and help them out.

What's his qualifications ... he cares about this football club. He is a "legend" of our club and respected by many. Magic he is a past player with experience associating with many AFL identities. But most of all he finally wants to fix the "real" problems on ALL levels.

Sadly this club has lost synchronisation ... its time to fix it. The alternative is not good.

IMHO he is the optimum "fixer" because he will be willing to listen to all. Sorry but we all have to give a bit. Yes that includes us.

Garry is many things, but the one thing that can't be disputed is his leadership. It is embarrassing that a bloke off the telly has to get in there and shake things up, but as mentioned, it's the only option we've got.

I feel my club is close to death, if Jimmy's efforts, which were strong on UNITY haven't sorted us out, I fear what will come next.

Hearing Garry speak, and Todd's presser, shows me that people still have passion for this club, and there's a glimmer of hope in that.

A lot needs to go right from now on, or we're gone.

What? Because he used the word Cancer??? Are you for real??

We have major problems at the club and if we do not get rid of the ASAP it (the problems) will go through the club like a bloody disease (if they havnt already)!!

Garry would have meant anything else about it and Jimmy wouldnt have taken it that way.

He could have used some other affliction like a parasitic infestation or perhaps hemorrhoids.

I'm really glad to see Garry on board just a shame his work will be limited with his media priorities but i'm wondering if any other ex players will help out.

You would think Ox,Neita,Flower,Or even Robbo would try to help out.

Yeah, if they've pulled on the Melbourne jumped they must be great footy coaches, administrators, etc.

What do other people in the footy industry know? Their clubs have only won every premiership since 1964.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
