Short of a final, I think it will take exceptional circumstances to make me attend a home game (or any game) at Etihad Stadium.

Sorry to those that find the idea offensive, but that's how I feel.

I hate that ground.

I can see where you're coming from. I'll be there but the depression starts the moment you walk into the place, it's horrid.

I'd suggest some flavour of the week riots but it'll be pretty easy for the cops to identify us in the 28 person strong crowd.

I get why level 3 is closed because it will save the club money but I refuse to buy a reserved seat. Im not paying an extra 12 or $17 whatever it is on top of my entrance fee. Its not only me thats going its my family as well. I sat on level 1 last year on the wings and didnt really like it. Give me level 3 anyday. At least you can see everything.

The thing is I dont mind playing a home game at etihad well I do put at least put it against another melbourne club so level 3 will be opened. The fact is its all about coughing up more bucks for a reserved seat.

In the email they are trying to make it sound exciting buy saying the trumpeter will be playing. Yippeee! This will get more people coming. Not!

The club sent out an email to me and a few others who showed disappointment to the club at having to pay the extra bucks detailed that had they done the memberships after the release of the fixture the same cost would have been included in the membership anyway. But they chose to get the membership packages out as early as possible and when it was realised that we were to play a home match at Etihad they had to request this from those members now.

Now it's possible that this is all a smoke screen but that is the reason why we have to pay extra for a guaranteed seat. Personally I'm just going to take pot luck at one of the designated spots, I reckon I'll be alright.

This is a crappy situation, I hate the venue with a passion and I'm just about done with going to away matches there. But this is our home match, like it or not, and at the end of the day boys are going to play a home match there so it's up to us to make sure it feels like home for them and a hostile venue for the Weagles.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
