Just as well you had those two words in different sentences. Pinot is the nectar of the Gods and the other is the swill of Collingwood supporters.

O.D- You are welcome to invite me to taste the new range.

I have been a great connoisseur of the premium variety for many years and am glad to have found a kindred spirit in your good self.

Disregard Bitters and his pathetic attempts to ingratiate himself into OUR vineyard.

I have a marvellous Palate-one that has gone viral many times-I can say with some confidence.

Look forward to tasting a few cases.

DC, I don't care if you have been rogering the Duke of York with a prize-winning leek! There is no place for words like that on this thread!

Indeed Uncle Bitter.

Reading your many witticisms and weighty proclamations on here is akin to two George Clooneys making love by candle light in a villa by Lake Como between silk sheets, such is the carisma and eloquence bursting from every word.

Ignore these heathens who cast aspergers  on you.

To me, that image is one guaranteed to make every red-blooded Aussie spew ...

Precisely. The thread’s been completely derailed for the last 700 or so pages and it’s time to get back on topic.

I’m surprised, no shocked ? that nobody has picked up on this comment by Deeman on the AFLW thread about last week's game v GWS Giants:-

“I understand the concern about Mifsud’s absence for us but what I really want to know is why [censored] wasn’t playing for them!”

You know all too well, WJ, that there is only one way to derail this thread, and it is mentioned in the title (hint: it is not the part about bullsh!t, which appears to be far more honoured in the breech than the observance).

BTW I have no idea why Deeman would think Phat Phil would be playing for the Giants, unless there were doughnut-based incentives in the contract ...

I am 100% certain that is undoubted cause for a banning Mr. leg. However the big problem is how we enforce it. Hmm!

I wouldn’t be relying on Mr Leg if I were you OD. He was last seen on a banana plantation in Pago Pago holding court with the locals and was apparently so impressed with the place that he’s considering migrating to Western Samoa and laying down his roots there.

That wouldn’t be Phat Phil, R & B. According to my NSW informants, he can’t fit into the change rooms at Giant HQ. Not only that, it’s rumoured that he’s involved in pre-production for the Ten Network’s forthcoming new lifestyle series, “My Three Tons”.

Now on another matter.

Even during my relatively short viewing of tv, I have been assailed by a flood of adds for a program called "married at first sight".

Unless I have been overcome by shiraz and passed out, I don't believe I have ever watched a so called "reality" show.

Do any of you fellow interlectuals watch this stuff? Could someone tell me who does?

Am I making a harsh judgement based on little evidence in saying this stuff is rubbish?

I just get the impression that it must be some sort of black hole that sucks out whatever brain cells remain. This whole concept of "reality" tv befuddles me.

Perhaps I am totally out of touch with the world - a strong possibility I'll admit.

Please enlighten me.

BBO, I recently gave you some sage advice regarding you flogging yourself.

I would exhort you to follow my advice and stay well away from what passes as entertainment for the mindless masses.

I liken it to being drawn to look at a car crash. As much as we known that it is wrong, it is titillating to watch the pain of the less fortunate. I think you would derive a perverse pleasure watching it. Please don't watch more than one episode, I fear it may deaden the brain.

As you are the new cultural expert-could you tell us what passes for sport these days?

I stand corrected; thanks WJ. "My Three Tons" would presumably rate better than "The Biggest Loser" Perhaps Deeman's information relates to AFLX? (whatever the hell that is).

Well Biffen, it would seem that for many senior politicians and execs their favourite sport is shacking up with much younger employees. Of course, they're all good looking roosters....

Who's going to be next? Nick Xen, Boris Johnson or maybe even our Gil?!

Not if your German Daisy. Or for that matter any other nationality. The only other observation is that Wedding is no longer the destination and if it is for some, the final destination is more likely Boring or Breakup.  Not for all of us I might add.

I am sure Bitter would also have whipping or thrashing in there somewhere probably after Petting but before........

Once you've had black, dc......

I have had the utter misfortune of "running into" BBO who just happened to be in Albury as I was winding up a deceased estate for a friend of mine.

After following me around S/E Asia with his gold toothed charm and brothel creeping sandals he now seems to know my whereabouts at all times.

He claims to have lost his wallet and cannot even feed himself let alone pay for his night time luxuries that included charging hotel rooms to my credit card and other unauthorised purchases such as visits to room 54 which was home to a young Chinese person of uncertain gender. I am unable to shake this lecherous parasite from my person.

Any advice on losing the tail would be greatly appreciated.

Gee, I go away for a while and this place goes to rack and ruin.

I was in the South Pacific on a cruise ship, trying to outrun a Cyclone, which we did successfully and to my dismay the place goes downhill, discussing smart rats with gold teeth.

Anyway the standard will now lift with my return.

PS. I want it acknowledged if Fritsch plays early, that I said it first and deserve a winter olympics gold medal for the effort.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
