Even better eleven goalkickers today. So far, push on to 100 point win guys

I'd rather win by 20points so long as we actually turn up and compete against the Tiogs next week.

A 100 point win equals a game up on the Tiogs and maybe a spot in the eight after next week.

Good point and we need some percentage given ours has dropped after the Pies game.

Hopefully they take some of this form into next week and at least it's at the G.

Melbourne are the genuine Yo Yo team of the League.

On our past form we'll be thrashed by 60 points next week after such a big win this week.

But I hope we give the Tiogs a good run for their money and if we turn up we may beat em :)

What was that about Percentage

Umm....yeah I said maybe well get some of our percentage back!!!! Ha.... Go you dees!

Back to 102%

Do we know why Gysbert's was withdrawn?

CC said soreness before the game. Also said we'll rest some of our young kids between now and the end of the season.

Gysberts had a limited pre season, and some hard games since coming back into the side. I'm happy they chose to rest him, especially if the soreness was groin or back related. No need to push his body too hard given his previous injuries.

I am currently in the Kimberley for work, so obviously was not at the game today. However, I managed to watch the game live on TV at the Willare roadhouse, which is between Derby and Broome. Stood in bright, warm sunshine - sorry Demonlanders- with some good ole boys, some of which wore their Freo scarves over their blue singlets. A great bunch of blokes really.

I was pretty impressed with the Dees today and agree, as some have already said, it would be nice to see us string two good performances together. I hope we can next week against the Toigs. My highlights were Howe - this kid is going to be very good and Jack Watts. One of the rouseabouts standing next to me said, "farrk, this kid is good. He turned to me and asked me who JW was and I told him he was our number one draft pick, 3 years ago. He replied, I can see why. Of course we were all looking through the xxxx beer googles at this time - that is all you can get up here at the present time.

But the best line of the day, given that many of them are cattle farmers, or at least station hands, was when a bloke with no teeth said, that Freo was worse than the "filim" that showed those *@#)ers in Indonesia f^in with their cattle.

I have been a critic of DB and I don't resile from that, but I believe he would be an asset to any footy club, but just not as a senior coach. Looking forward to the Toigs game next week

How was the atmosphere at the G today? I note the crowd was only just over 19K.

Greetings from the red Kimberley to all Demonlanders.

Jack Watts BOG.

Being interviewed on TV now. Walks and talks like a future captain.

I wish desperate D'land posters would stop referring to everyone as future captains. Just let the kid play; look at how future captain Grimes is going.

Should be a ban-able offence.

As Chris Connolly says, it's not the captain that's important, but the quality of the entire leadership group.

Amen to that. The big one in my time was Brock, who was all but guaranteed as captain.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
