Was the Jack Trengove hearing fair?

Can only hope that this in no way effects the way we go about tackling on the weekend and forward. IMO, do not change a thing.

I have the feeling that this is going to change NOTHING... Go Dees.

That's how I feel too. I'm not going to make a big stink about it, but I feel that the club has let the player down by its initial meek defence.

I'm not going to labor the point though. Time to just move on I think.

Except no matter what we showed on Tuesday, the same medical report would have been taken into account. It has since changed. How could the AFL not take that into account?

Screw the proper proceedings, where the f*$% is the common sense??

What would an action cost Daisy?

No idea, but serious money

I'm sure not just MFC supporters but supporters from all clubs would chip in (so would players who all stand to lose $s on this)

Funny this happens in the year they sign a record deal, the powers that be in the afl are not about the sport its now all about that sweet sweet cash and making sponsors happy.

pretty sure they just brought the game into disrepute, should see the comments and remarks being made in media internet and around the water cooler. bigger issue then when fev got drunk at the brownlow.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. The only way to get a stupid rule changed is to challenge it, sometimes the best way to challenge it is to obey it. If all players stop tackling, the AFL might see how ridiculous and wrong this rule is and change it. If we all go along pretending like nothing has happened, then nothing will change. :(

While I hope noone is ever badly injuredf I hope a similar case occurs and a Collingwood player gets the same charge this week. Then the AFL may realise how stupid they are.

Then the AFL may realise how stupid they are.

Thats a catch 22. They are too stupid to realise how stupid they are.

All over guys

The MFC will not take it any further they will not buck the system.

Lets get on with winning on Saturday.

I wouldn't want to be a North player this weekend.

Vlad and his cronies win again .... (I'll refrain from saying what I really want to say for fear of breaching the Demonland Code of Conduct)

This is a horrendous decision supported by a corrupt and pig headed afl administration. This administration is killing our game slowly.

Gutted by this. Fu@&$$&&$$!!;!:$:7;!;!,&:@/&/,;!:&/@"...

But, as much as we feel we have been wronged, we must move on.

We will gain nothing by parking ourselves here and stewing over our injustice.

The team need to focus now on the roos, this will have been a big enough distraction already.

Put this energy into the game and do it for JT!

Let's hope the players channel their rage into this sat arvo.

We gotta move on, but the AFL should clarify this nonsense at the end of the year.

I hope one of the boys puts a replica tackle on a North player, who bounces straight back up. Then send a please explain THAT to the AFL. Absolute crock of [censored].

I would not be at all surprised if the AFL threatened the club with a withdrawal of any extra funding in the future if they took it any further. According to an official from another club, this has been done before. Of course denials all around.

??? FACEBOOK, or something? Can we get a march going? Or Boycott both etihad games!

can anyone tell me how the afl committee are appointed? is there anyway the clubs can pass a no-confidence vote and have them sacked? this decision sets a very dangerous precedent for the afl. if a player is dazed by a tackle after hitting his head on the ground, will this be considered high impact?

Wish we could Leave the AFL & start a new League. This one is doomed.

FFS the original rules of the game sit in our CLUB!

Go Dees, we must all stick fat & win the next 3 games for Jack Trengove.

Edit: PS, Watch the game @ Leighoak or Bentleigh, then attend, The Storm NRL game enmass in protest.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
