Scully's management to talk to Melbourne this week

Featured Replies

We shall wait and see on this one. Fingers and everything else crossed!

BUT..does this mean GWS will target one of our other off-contract players?

They could back off and go for Trenners next year.

One crises at a time, please.

Will someone just change the name on the thread - save us some time...

I have no doubt GWS will look closely at Trengove next year-But hopefully by then the MFC is sniffing Finals with larger MCG crowds in attendance.

If Scully signs it will help to unite the whole Football Department-That said the Team must play well and improve this year.

hahahah 1500-post 'Trengove to GWS?' thread coming right up!

seriously can we not

good new, i'll buy a new gurnsey with #31 on the back when he resigns :)

Good on ya mate !

Good call. But before that it will be the "Oh Noes" Sylvia campaign. I'm sure of it.

Im confident he will sign now.

We have to keep our most talented core as a priority.

Scully, Trenners,Grimes,Watts,Jurrah,Sylvia & Frawley

Don't get too excited it is not over the line yet!

Well let's just end it now HT - Col tweeted that he bought a house in Melbourne on the weekend

Does this mean your head is now in the sand?

At the very least, I think you've dug a hole in the sandpit and are poised waiting to make the plunge...

Has to be? Has to be?

Why must we?

It would be ideal, but hardly "has to be".

If I and other posters with similar views to mine contributed a measly 0.1% of the effort required in helping get this matter to a head then it's infinitely far more than fans like you that would have been content keeping their heads in the sand for another six months to wait for any answer.

Why not get excited? He obviously wants to be a Demon but he wanted to just play footy before dealing with the tedium of contract negotiations. If it wasn't for fat Ed it's exactly what would have happened but now he wants it put to bed ASAP so he can get back to doing what he loves. If we make him happy with the offer he will sign and I have faith that we can do that.

Good for him ! HM - as if something like that will prevent or quell the hysteria as the season progresses around here.

Are you going to claim credit if Scully re-signs?

To say this whole ordeal must be nipped in the bud sooner rather than later, is an understatement.

Not fair on Tom, the club and the supporters.

Mark Steven's also twitted that Melbourne will hold press conference before our next practice match.

Press Conference + Contract Talks = we should know something very soon. I would say he is staying.

Where is the Tweet. I can't find it

0.01 % worth.

0.01 % worth.

Personally I felt your frightened rants and criticism of other posters who failed to see the "facts" according to your deluded and twisted form of logic were far more destructive than productive.

But that's just me.

Absolutely. Tom's all about being the best he can be, and I'd think playing AFL in 2011 with a team his future lies with, minus the negative speculation, would be the best recipe for that.

But that's just me.

Yes, I understand that Temporal Lobe "events" can do this. You can get help.

Yes, I understand that Temporal Lobe "events" can do do this. You can get help.

Yes as I would expect, a personal insult in lieu of any real content. I know that you won't engage me in a real adult argument, have seen it before.

I am thankful that you are as you say that you are in the 0.01%, I am sure that the club would feel much the same. I am grateful that the majority of supporters of our great club are able to wait the reporting of the "facts" and not submit to fear as you have done.

0.01 % worth.

I think it was this quote of ADC's that convinced Tom to start talks.

If we are going to be held to ransom by this parasitic management group and their inarticulate juvenile lead then we deserve another 50 plus years in the wilderness.

Supporter, huh?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
