I don't like clash jumpers. There's no need for them as long as one team wears white shorts and one wears black. Socks can also be significantly different if that is going to be an issue otherwise leave the jumpers as is.

I don't like our white (surrender) jumper. Have we ever won when we've worn it? Probably but not too often I suspect even allowing for our poor recent Win Loss record. I wonder whether Brad Green would have proudly grabbed that jumper during the Crows game if he was wearing that white abomination!

Well said Pello. My Sentiments are the same as yours. The Surrender (white) strips suck, no other word for it. I am glad i am not the only one who brings this point up.

To wear the "White" Clash strip when interstate is totally abhorrent, and i wish ALL the clubs would stand up to this. Not good for stadium revenue when the away side wins though is it.... B)

No reason for clash jumper against Saints. There were times each team handballed directly to opposition.

Standard strip would have been best.

I can't believe this rubbish.

If AFL want to control this, then build a matrix of acceptable combinations for each team, so MFC don't just run out with a "St Kilda" jumper on like they did last week.

If AFL don't want to control this then everyone should go back to always wear standard strip with light or dark shorts, like Collingwood do.

Apoligies for bringing up an old topic but I really don't like our "away/clash" jumper. Why can't we wear our Royal blue jumper from the 70's and 80's. Who would that clash with? If that isn't acceptable then invert the colours... I don't paticularly care, as long as we are the red and blue. Either would hands down look better than that slab of white with a little red on it, which looks more like a variation of the swans jumper. Watching the demons play running around in that strip ruins the gameday experience for me and I'm sure I'm not alone on that point.

I think the colour of our jumper should be the least of our concerns at the moment.

We're wearing white. Let's accept that for what it is. We have a decent white jumper.

Hence why I didn't start a new thread about it, and for what its worth I wasn't here when we were discussing it.

But can I ask why do we have to accept it? Is it because we are meek supporters that cave in as easily as the team on field? Do you see Essendon, Richmond or Carlton with a white away strip? If Carlton can move from their "clash" strip (which in my opinion was a million times better than their baby blue m&m's outfit) I don't see why we can't do the same.

You're right that the jumper colour is not a major concern considering how we are performing at the moment, but it's still an important facet of our club and I don't see why it doesn't warrent further discussion. Nah nevermind... think i'll just add to the depressing, wrist slashing, membership microwaving threads that are undeniably more worthy topics of discussion. See, I can use sarcasm too

Really think they are unnecessary most of the time.

I think original clubs i.e MFC should always wear their original jumper and all subsequent introduced sides that clash with us be made to wear an alternate.

Out of interest when did we last have a home game against Essendon they should wear white.

Speaking of essendon who don't have a clash jumper. The afl have nicely dodged this issue by giving us one home game (in 2010) in the last 8 games between us. You have to go back to round 1 2005. Disgraceful. Talk about a fixture

Agree, its becoming a joke that we are constantly the away team... I do actually recall essendon stating in a pre-season recently that they were going to introduce a white strip as per AFL requirements. Funny how that never eventuated.

I never asked you to be depressed. In fact, I welcome threads that are not 'we're f**ked, this club is doomed, let's sack Neeld' and so on. Feel free to be positive! But I really see no need whatsoever to re-open a debate that, as far as I can see, is just completely unimportant now.

Essendon have always been difficult with clash jumpers so luckily were away this week and will use common sense and not clash

I have no idea what the current rule is, but wasnt the old rule that the away team gets to chose? Surely the AFL is smart enough to enforce a rule like te EPL?

The current clash jumper is easily the best of the MFC white/silver clash strips so far (which the AFL is obviously insisting on).

Agree with you Nascent - I'd like to see red and royal blue as the main clash jumper, and a third inverted home jumper (ie navy yoke with red) for away games against the Dogs (won't happen but I can dream).
