I am recently returned from a stint overseas, and am settling back into Melbourne.

One of the things I am keen to do is get involved in community service. As my skills are corporate coaching/mentoring, training, presentation skills etc, I thought the Reach Foundation could benefit from some of my skills. Helping young people get ahead in these areas would be great.

Does anyone have any info on who I should contact, and their details?

Cheers.

Have you not got the yellowpages or the Internet..?

Not sure if Reach need volunteers who need other people to think for them...

You in a bad mood E? Understand your point but perhaps a tad harsh????

Not really.

I don't understand why someone would need to ask the question on demonland.

If they are unable to find the information themselves, they'll be no help to anybody.

People who are too lazy to think for themselves annoy me.

Thank you. I was hoping that someone in the community would have a deeper insight into a specific name and direct contact. Rather than being 'lazy' and attempting to annoy people, my aim was to use an established community and network to simplify a deeper search process and connect directly to an individual, rather than the front page of an organisation. Given modern networking and business principles, this is a highly effective and simple approach. Often, people who do not answer the actual question are quite happy to let it slide by and allow others to provide appropriate information, to support others in their community. Sometimes, people need to express themselves on any topic and engage regardless of the level of their value add. This often speaks to other issues that they are dealing with.

Merry Christmas to all, and go Dees in 11.

You've been attending too many Anthony Robbins seminars pal. Seriously, what a load of tripe you've written above.

A "highly effective and simple approach" would have been to type Reach Foundation into Google, call them and ask to speak to someone. Not that hard.

This whole life/corporate coach industry has a lot to answer for.

Thought I was in Demonology for a moment there.

Some pretty uncalled for comments, particularly considering this persons motives seem to be honourable.

Harsh? Probably. But smug "life coaches" need to be taken down a peg wherever and whenever they appear.

Just have a re-read of his last post.

I read it properly the first time and it really doesn't bother me. It's no worse than much of what is posted in these and other forums (just different) - live and let live, I say.

Yeah, fair call & I think he has a point in his rebuttal, albeit a weak one.

Seriously, extract the digit and find the information for yourself.

If you can't, you're useless anyway.

The OP doesn't inspire me with confidence in his ability, only an appearance that he is desperate to be acknowledged for being such a good life coach and for wanting to do charity work.

Bravo.

But cos I'm such an awesome guy & he sounds like an awesome guy too, I'll PM him Jimmy's mobile number...

Now thats more in keeping with the Xmas spirit!!

Nice gesture! Bet you feel better for it.

Let Jimmy tell him himself to bugger off

Don't see too much to get ansty about here...

Although he did post 'value add'...

I guess that's when you 'add value' to something...

Ironically, 'value add' has added nothing of value to how we converse with each other...

A very fair comment-I thought the same- gee one would show some initiative to look them up themselves.Furthermore,as a MFC supporter- he would know that, Jim Stynes, Jules or our Senior V/P-Don McLardy would have been the one's anyone would contact for a leg up-he may even have got a voluntary role with the MFC..if he enquired.

Sounds like you have some kind of Life Coach bitternes Range Rover. One didn't dent your fender on the way up to the snow :)

So based upon the OP, there are a lot of assumptions and judgements made about me. Im lazy, incompetent, and need to be taken down a peg or two. E45 just gets angry because someone posts a question asking for some help (strange reason to get angry). Others dont like my language. I guess (was going to assume, but that might have upset someone) that Jim and Don are not the operational managers - no one has been able to connect me to anyone in the ops side of the organisation, so I will use other means.

Merry Christmas - and E45, See you next time.

There is a whole section of the website dedicated to "getting involved", which I take is what you want to do. I'm sure that can give you the stepping stones to what you need. Personally, I would have checked that first off.

Everyone here knows that e25 is a troubled young person...

So, I guess some advice I would give vis-a-vis your desire to work with the Reach Foundation - try and let stuff like this slide when you are dealing with the kids...

Just a thought...

I was being facetious.

Your strike rate stays intact going into the new year...

The Keyboard warriors strike again.

I wonder how little respect some people must get in life if they feel that they have to constantly try and make themselves feel like a big man on an internet forum.

Nah, I think it is the tone of plain text that gives the 'keyboard warrior' thing.

It's like walking into a supporter owned bar and announcing your desire to work with Reach and if there is any contacts at the bar.

He'd get a very friendly 'why don't you google it?'...

I've just re-read my posts pn htis topic from a few days ago and clearly I got out of bed on the wrong side that day! I'd like to apologise to Buck Nekkid as I think my comments were out of order and unecessary.

He should be commended for wanting to help in such a way.

Merry Christmas ;)

I'm with E. Buck your either thick (which would disqualify you from helping teach leadership skills to reach)...or your blowing your own horn. One of the two is correct; i assume the latter.

I'm not with E or you. I reckon Jimmy would listen but has his own people anyway.

But then again, you and E are such keyboard heroes...
