Thanks for your significant contribution as a board member Andrew, especially at a critical time for our club.

Always liked watching you play footy for the Dees. Never any doubt where your heart lay.

Good luck for the future.

Thanks for the great work. You and your fellow board members have put the previous administration to shame and have done a marvelous job rebuilding this great club.

Thank you for everything Andrew. During his tenure the board completely reinvented the club.

I do hope that the club takes him with them to AAMI as some kind of talisman. Hey, anything is worth a shot.

I find it odd that Leoncelli put the previous administration to shame given that he joined the much reviled “previous administration” in October 2007 at the invitation of Paul Gardner and his Board, and was part of Gardner’s legacy along with Bailey, Connolly, Casey, Olympic Park Headquarters etc.

I still can't work out if people like you persist with such bashing out of ignorance, a need for simplicity, or because you feel it is necessary to slander the last board in order to make the current board look better.

Back in black

I hit the sack

I've been too long I'm glad to be back

Yes I'm, let loose

From the noose

That's kept me hanging about

I keep looking at the sky

'Cause it's gettin' me high

Forget the herse 'cause I'll never die

I got nine lives

Cat's eyes

Usin' every one of them and running wild

Who had a go at the previous admin?

GOAG! Behave yourself...

Ha! Thanks, glad I'm not forgotten.

HSOG, you obviously love the club and know a lot about it.

I wish you'd come on here and post about other topics that concern the MFC rather than every time previous administrations are mentioned.

Very difficult to forget.

The debates were endless and needless.

I just wish you would throw your valuable 'two cents' around on other topics...

Believe me, the current administration needs no help looking good. Perhaps you are blinded by some allegiance to Gardner & co and cannot see that spiraling debt, the loss of respect from the football world and the AFL commission even seeing us as a basket case were all as a result of the previous admin. Yes they did some good things but not nearly enough.

That's the plain old truth whether you like it or not.

Who had a go at the previous admin?

GOAG! Behave yourself...

Sorry......! :)

Hey guys, this is an old discussion. Let's not de-rail this thread with it. If you want to start a conversation about the nature of the threads I contribute to then by all means do so, but it does not belong in this thread, nor in the "footy" section of the message board. Having said that, I will offer a brief, partial explanation (again). That is, most football discussions involve unquantifiable opinions - I am more often moved to comment when I read demonstrably inaccurate information being paraded as fact. In any case, my propensity to provide input on this subject should not detract from the legitimacy of my comments which should be considered on their own merits.

Hey mate, your previous, more relevant post indicates that you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe you should just take a moment to get your facts straight before spouting off further.

Hazy - I'd like to re-iterate 45HG16's thoughts too. Would love to read some other discussion; some other time perhaps.

My original post was not meant to be a derailment, rather a compliment, but the subsequent reply to what i wrote by HSOG was and so came the retort.

Some other place and time HSOG we will debate perceived 'facts and truths'......

In the interest of the thread no more will be said except for praise of Leoncelli as he deserves... :)

Your first post was relevant but it didn't make any sense. It is ridiculous to praise Leoncelli by stating that he "put the previous administration to shame." Leoncelli was part of the "previous administration" and there is not a lot of room for debate as far as that 'fact and truth' is concerned.

It is a pity that you could not have constrained yourself to expressing your gratitude for Leoncelli's work in your initial post, instead of feeling compelled to take a gratuitous and misguided dump on the pre-Jim Board as well. That way, I would not have felt compelled to point out your error and your ignorance would not have been made so plain for all to see.

If you really want to give Leoncelli the praise he deserves you should acknowledge the contribution he made during his entire tenure on the Board, including that portion which was spent as part of the "previous administration".

Aah Hazy, been wondering when your strange and cryptic messages would re-appear?

Maybe one day you will enlighten us all with what your connection with the Previous board actually was/is.

Considering the position the club was in 3 years ago compared to where it is heading now, i find your somewhat obsession with the past board quite humorous.

I said i would let it go but you keep taking swipes and self promoting.....

Leoncelli joined the board in Oct 2007.

Stynes takes over in Jun 2008 and the changeover occurs.

Leoncelli served 8 months under Gardner and a further 2 and a bit years under Jimmy.

Fair to say he was far more a part of the current administration than the previous. Thems the facts and that is why when i posted i referred to him being part of the current adminsitration.

My original post made perfect sense to those not blindly defending the previous adminsitration.

Gratuitous- maybe

Misguided- who are you kidding. Feel free to point out any parts of that post that are misguided and i will gladly retort.

Over $5 million debt. Yep.

Basket case in the eyes of the AFL. Yep.

No respect from the football public. Yep.

All pretty clear cut 3 years ago. Not now.

I admire your staunchness however it is what it is, blinded. Take off the rose coloured glasses.

Leoncelli was obviously part of a great Current administration and for that i thank him.

A True Blue & Red soul.

I love the commitment he shows the club,,, & when he played as well.

Thanks Chelli.

Agree- a great job from an ex Blue.Well done & thank you-Chelli

That doesn't answer any questions at all.

Ironic allegation of the week.

Re read it and think about it.

Your original post was rightly pointed out as being factual incorrect.

You should have followed rpfc's sound advice.

Hazy clearly pointed out the situation. You just dig a bigger hole and continued derailing a topic.

I am sure Leoncelli understands the situation and would not welcome any grandstanding upon his departure.

Leoncelli and any other MFC director that gives their time for the Club deserves better.

It wasnt the answer that was given. Any reason why Hazy may have re quoted his section at the bottom of the post? Take your time. Hmmmmm....

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
