THAT'S ALL FOLKS

I don't think this is the time to "bash" Moloney.

It's true he tended to spray his possessions in the centre too much in the last couple of games. But, everyone seems to forget he was out with what must have been a quite serious injury. He's lacking games. Trengove is much the same. Since he came back, he's not really hit the heights he did earlier in the year.

Perhaps now, it looks like, the choice between him or Scully as the #1 Draft pick was correct after all.

We did miss Davey (we missed him last week too); the midfield changed character, when Scully was forced to go on Harvey, after Jones went off. But, Scully also played a good game - even if his colours were lowered a bit by the most experienced stager, in the biz.

North were the better side. But, as opposed to our last loss to them, only a 10pt. better side, this time.

A full strength Melbourne would have won this game. But, today we were not full strength. Still, we tried our hearts out until that siren went.

I also agree with the comment, that it was the old guys who got North over the line.

For us, it was the young guys (the future), with maybe the exception for Green and dare I say it, Dunn, who enabled us to finish only 10pts down

But, that's all irrelevant, to where this team is going.

It would have been good to finish 10th or 9th - being 8th would have served no purpose: next year, a Finals birth is a must. More, should be more able to cope with the pressures of Finals football, rather than just "being at the table".Look what happened to Essendon, to understand what I am suggestng - and to a lesser extent (perhaps) Carlton, yet again.

Finally, be thankful, we're not bidding for Draft picks 1 & 2, again (not that we could anyway!).

But more, be thankful we have a team with a real future.

It started in 2010...

Fair points, but i still say when the heat is on, Moloney is over rated. I wish i didn't have to say it-but to take the next steps we must be a ruthless and Hard marking club concerning performance-or we will always just have potential. I want Holy Grails myself.

Liam Jurrah is becoming a star of the competition. Is there anything he can't do?

He hasn't solved the problems in the Middle East or cured cancer but he has a couple of months off to work on those.

Damn he is good. I would not be surprised if some supporters change clubs just because of him.

I agree.

Boomer Harvey, yet again, was the difference tonight. They lost by 104 points against St Kilda when Clint Jones kept him to 10 touches. He just kills us every single time.

A bitterly disappointing way to end the season with 3 very poor loses.

Really looking forward to next season though, and hopefully playing finals.

And yes I think we'd have made finals had Jurrah and also Ricky played the whole season.

Jaded you have nailed it for me. We should have at the very least won one of the last three.

I am going to dive in at the deep end!

Aussie is not good enough! forward presure is one thing but you have to get the ball. He simple does not get his hands on it enough.

Forwards cannot score if they do not get the ball. End of story for mine.

And now to the big taboo "Watts'

No more playing him to get games experience into him. He has had a dream run.

His contribution over the last three weeks has been next to nil, each week he has been in the bottom three

for possessions.

I watched him all day and the majority of his team mates ignore him. On numerous occasions I saw players ignore him and go to a different part of the ground.

That suggests to me they do not think much of his ability.

I can think of no other player who continually gets a game when they are way below the required level

and produce so little.

He should not have been played the last two weeks.

Next season he should play at Casey until he plays at least two games in the top five players.

I have had it with the developing big man theory!

when he produces at Casey promote him and not before.

Can you name them?

Moloney must improve, Morton is a worry, It is a tough one,as all you could see were really trying, but too many times North were able to run Coast to coast.

The Side improved Massively this year, but we now hit the really hard stage. Breakout consistantly.

Watching the finals Melbourne supporters have got to say "How close to this are we"

WYL, my comments were not so much aimed at you.

Even though you are a hard task master, generally I know from your posts, you know there is a long term plan.

What I get critical about, are the short sighted comments from those who think we can just get up and be there, because we have some talented players.

It takes much more than that.

And, I believe we now have a club, which is capable of delivering.

It has made "promises"- which everyone (players included) - believe they can finally turn into reality.

In 50+ years, I haven't felt that, since the halcyon 50s & early 60s.

And, yes, Thai food and a great Thai wife (16+ years) have made my life, nearly as "good as it gets".

There is just one thing missing, but I know it is on it's way...finally!

Go Dees!!!LOL

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
