Liam Jurrah has only played 9 games, while he can be exciting it is stupid to believe that his abscence is the reason for the poor performances by our forwards. Since his debut, MFC have played more games without him in the lineup, its unrealistic to expect him to carry the load this early in his career, but he will be a good contributor going forward.

I like Petterd, and glad he is staying put. But at the end of the day, Petterd will only develop to be a 'good' AFL player. I believe he has already hit his ceiling (potential wise) or very close to it. I just hope he stays fit.

In my eyes Brad Green has been the only positive up forward. I haven't made my mind up about Jack Watts, but I think he could be better utilised on the wing at this point until he builds some muscle, I also think he has the aptitude for it because he has done some terrific deliveries inside 50. Plus an athletic 196(?)cm player on the wing could force the opposition coach into some interesting matchups. To be honest, I'd like to see Watts develop into an Adam Goodes type player in that he is able to play anywhere across the ground instead of being pigeon holed at CHF. If he builds his endurance up, he would be more than capable of it.

You most certainly under rate Petterd he will be a very creative player going forward

And the X Factor of Liam Jurrah puts him way beyond just being a good contributor.

So i just think you will never be satisfied with anything until all the coaching positions have been filled by your nominations.

Not much, but right now it's all I can spare.

I am now convinced that the success and strength of our football club is about much more than just winning games of football or even premierships.

It might sound silly, but to me it seems like it has the power to use football as a vehicle to do so much good in the world.

I hope you are right 25, but winning onfield does keep the club more relevant to the outside world, I gave a Demon scarf to a Filipino boy last week. The look of Joy & Pridr on his face when i showed him the Photo of Big Jimma up in the red dirt with all the aboriginal kids was worth way more than money so i get what you mean.

But in Footy a winning club is a Vibrant energy that also generates attendances and TV-with those 2 things on side, this club can achieve anything.

Boss ... from what I have read your obsessive criticisms of Bailey and Mahoney are based on the curious theory that you have to be a champion player to be able to coach.

The extraordinary mental strength necessary to win a premiership after being dumped by two clubs - demonstrated by Josh Mahoney - is irrelevant under your theory.Over the past three years, the greatest coaching triumph was surely Clarkson's in 2008 - a very ordinary player...... and the biggest coaching stuff up may well prove to be Voss's at Brisbane in 2010 - a champion player.

I couldn't believe the money that was jammed into the tins coming around. In the Trident area I was watching people stuff in 100's and 50's like it was no ones business. People are really excited and nearly everyone I saw couldn't put there hand in there pocket quick enough, I am proud to call myself a Melbourne MEMBER !!! GO DEEEESSSS !!!

And how great to see some Syndey supporters doing so.

I love that the tins were filled and that so many contributed, including many Swannies supporters. However, I have a small complaint to make Re: some of the tin rattlers. I can only speak for the ones that were on the Level 2 Balcony in the MCC members. I noticed that they were not paying attention to those who were trying to donate that were not sitting directly on the isles. I know it is a tough gig, but i was seated in seat 12 and my dad seat 13.. Both of us wanted to make a 'note' donation and tried to waive at the girl to gain her attention. Sadly we were ignored. Many others around us were in the same boat. As soon as everyone noticed the tin rattlers coming around, everyones hands went in to the pocket to pull out whatever they had. Sadly many did not get the opportunity to pass their contribution on.

I am not blaming anyone or having a go at the volunteers who gave up their time, but perhaps if we run this type of thing again a little more organisation is needed. It is harder in the area I am talking about as well as there are a lot of people packed close together and getting to everyone is a bit tough.

However, if I was the MFC I would next time direct the tin rattlers to stand one on either end of the isles on either side. Pass the tin up and down each isle/ A la collection plates at Church. That way teh 'plate' (tin in this case) gets around to all members and supporters. Just something to consider for next time. Isle by isle is the way to go. Everyone will put something in as they feel embarassed if they don't. Least that has been my experience with Church collection plates.

Good effor though team and lets hope we smash a bit more of that debt. I think we will all be suprised with how much we will get. I saw a lot of $10'ers and $5.00ers being slipped in there. A few people slipping in the odd $50.00 too.

I expected more than that... that's less than a dollar per person in the crowd. I myself put $25 in, and I saw atleast two people in my row put in a $50 note each! Still a great effort, I just would have thought that more was donated!

The problem was not everyone who was willing to pay was given opportunity. See my post above. The volunteers dissapeared after the start of the match where I was sitting. I know that they too wanted to see the game, but if we had of had more people for longer I am sure we could have hit 100k

Top level of the olympic stand near the disabled seats there was nobody collecting.

Great effort.

I was there from an hour before the bounce until about half an hour after the game and didn't even know people were collecting until I saw a picture on facebook about how much was raised...

Shame that by the sounds of it a few of the tin-rattlers weren't as alert as they might be - but they were a bulk group of pure volunteers so can't expect too much, I guess.

God some people whine on.

I am sure they did their best. A bay full of people, you are never going to get everyone.

Anyone can still donate. Nothing stopping you except making excuses why you couldn't.

i think after the 300 Foundation Heroes donate there 5k we'll be out of debt and into being finacially ahead. that should be 1.5m. well done everybody.
