  1. well done, didnt see it live but enjoyed the article with the Mac boys, lets hope they sign on soon.
  2. Great find, will done to the recruiting staff. Will only get better with this season under his belt.
  3. No doubt the best caller in the game, the dulcetone voice is second to none and his observations of the game is second to none will miss you Dennis Commetti
  4. No good giving Neeld the sack, lets say he goes this week the same players will be playing against Richmond and beyond. Have a look at it positively it is the players and not the coaching staff etc that is causing us all grief. We have an experienced ex coach in the coaching group, surely he is ''guiding'' Neeld as this is what he was employed for. On a player subject why aren't we playing Rodan, he is experienced, will give 110 percent and his experience which he was recruited for might just might flow on to younger players. He came on several weeks ago as the sub, picked up about 8 possessions in the last quarter and what happened the next week, he was dropped, hard to follow.
  5. Oh how much I despise Caroline Wilson, I won't read her articles any more as I won't listen to our lady PM - I change channels immediately or mute.If the AFL offer the club a fine of even one dollar, reject it and tell them we will see them in court, they don't have the evidence and all they are doing is trying to save face on a subject that they should have not even pursued, we'll not against the MFC alone. If they wished to pursue this they should have looked at another half a dozen clubs that have done what the Dees have done, and is what they have done legal but what the Dees have done illegal ?. The AFL made the rules and when the clubs took advantage of them they had to have a scapegoat and we are copping the brunt. If the members of the board and the President read this site lets hope they take advice from us and tell the AFL what they can do with their results of their investigation. STAND TALL DEES AND LET US OVERCOME
  6. Re Stinga and his no willie --- he had a ''soft'' tissue problem didn't he?????
  7. John Northey. Did so much more with what he had than Balme (and for much longer). John Northey the best coach the DEES have had since Norm Smith... What is the opinion of others on this Like This Quote MultiQuote
  8. Has anybody asked whether this guy is ''gangster'' because if he was he would not have been allowed to enter the United States because of his criminal record, which he musnt have if he was over there
  9. Aren't Demon supporters lovely people taking their young ones to the footy, congratulations to you all it makes me feel good (my kids are now in their early thirties). The club is in good hands from a supporter base when you read this topic.
  10. I have been thinking about Scully and his departure and my immediate thoughts went to Shane Woewodien and of cause Brock McClean. They both left the Demons for new pastures and both failed miserably. Shane won a Brownlow and thoroughly deserved it, however two years later he was ''over the hill'' having lost his speed and endurance. And we should also know what happened to Brock, left the Dees for greener pastures also and two years down the track he is too slow having lost that and his endurance and would also be considered to be ''over the hill''. Scully has never reached the levels of either of the above and there is a possibility that he never will. So let GWS suffer the consequences of Scullys non rise too glory. And of cause one of the best things about this will be the insipid smile wiped off the plumbers face.
  11. Nathan Jones is non touchable, would we trade Frawley, Trengove, Garland? The answer would be a definite no, and Jones should be included in this group of non touchable trades. He is one of the ''grunts'' of the team and we never see him give up, not like some of our so called other very hot or very cold team members.
  12. What a breath of fresh air, there has been so much crap going on about our dismal season that it makes me wonder whether I want to be a Demons supporter and member (a boy of 10 in 1956 meeting senior players from the club when they played in Devonport against the North West Football Union) and being a member of the club since 1990 and eat breath and sleep with any snippet of news from the club and this web amongst others. Remember what has happened since Jimmy took over the reigns as president, wiping out the huge debt, getting rid of a lot of players that were not up to the standards of being an AFL player or being at the end of their career and not being a part of the future of the club, new sponsors, big and small, moving from the Junction Oval to AAMI with some of the best facilities of any club re training, and of cause the new squad of players including Watts, Trengove,Frawley, Garland, Grimes,Howe,Martin,Gawn,Mckenzie,Maric,Blease,Tapscott,Nicholson,Petterd and you the readers of this may be able to add more, some of these proved some to prove themselves but none with many games under the belt and once this squad get games behind them (60 to 80) things will improve and improve rapidly. I have not included Scully in the above mentioned younger players and to be quite honest I don't think he will be as good as a Trengove so let him go to the GWS and we will be better off not only in the salary cap but our extra draft choices will be an added benefit to the team.So to all of you doubters take a Bex, Panadol, Panamax or an Aspirin and settle down
  13. I would say that the players mentioned as an example Harry Taylor at Geelong are surrounded by very strong mature players as are the other young players at Geeelong, with the Dees we don't have that calibre of mature players, our senior players like Green and Moloney (Jamar excluded) are not in the same calibre as Selwood, Ottens, Johnson Ling and the list goes on,of cause we could look at Collingwood, Hawthorn and to a lesser extent Carlton and the Eagles in the same light we have to remember that the majority of our players are young and have not played many games, lets put some games under their belt and see what transpires and of cause this means patience and lots of it, I want instant success as much as any other Dees supporter but realise that it is going to take several years before we are up with the big boys.
  14. I am an avid reader of most subjects, however I would not read let alone purchase any book that Matthew Lloyd wrote, he is a nobody
  15. never understood that - my gf has a cat and i reckon i could crush its head with one hand ( not that it has ever crossed my mind......) Once caught a FERAL cat in a trap and put 3 .22 bullets in its head and it still wanted to tear my arm off - so you won't crush your grandfathers cat with one hand that is for sure
  16. A big thankyou will book mark this lot
  17. I can remember that we have had a few whipping boys over the last months namely Watts, Pettard, Jones,Maric, Bennell, Jurrah and now Morton is the latest and the list goes on, one has to remember that these young fellows have only played a handful of games (Jones the exception here) and are going to have their good games and bad but give them their 60 to 80 games and then lets knock them when they get to that level of games, guys like Bates to my opinion are now in the firing line but for hells sake leave the younger guys alone and let them develop, they are not going to be a Judd or Ablett in their early games of their career and certainly NOT every week.Yes they will play their good games and if Jack Watts has a bad game next week against Richmond is he going to be the new whipping boy (again)
  18. Early on this week I watched the first half of the Dees v Dockers game on line (at that stage there was only the first and second quartersavailable, I have since looked for the third and last quarters and cannot find, can anyone help me out as how to find the second half still on line as I would dearly love to watch this. PS I don't have AUSTAR (FOX)
  19. Congrats to Nathan for his 100, surely he is what all of our other players should be aspiring to, aspiring to his courage, his endeavour, his loyalty and his never say die attitude, if only what he has could be given in a blood type transfusion we would not have witnessed what we seen against the Eagles and against the Roos last week, for all of you out there who rubbish or have rubbished Jonesy during his time with the Dees be ashamed of yourselves and stop being so sanctimonious, reading what you say gives me the sheets, so think of all of the positives in the man and not those minor negatives that you take great delight in highlighting.
  20. We must remember it is game one and there will be mistakes, but look at the brighter outcomes of the game, Tapscott, Martin, Petterd, Bennell who were outstanding. With Green, Davey and others to lift their game bring on the Dorks
  21. Thanks for the training report guys being interstate never get to see the training and am envious of you in this regard Please keep them coming
  22. Have discussed the captaincy issue with one of the club stalwarts (not a player) who is still deeply involved with the club and he states that Brad Green is a shoe in for the job. Best and Fairest for 2010, leading goal kicke,r a player who can play in numerous positions and still has at least 3 good years of football ahead of him, also he is tough, still puts himself in dangerous situations even after having his jaw shattered. Also he handles himself well with the press and for those who think different our immediate past captain was not a top performer in the public arena, no criticism of him but seeing as it was mentioned about Greens lack of public experience it is not the main criteria for being the captain of an AFL club.
  23. Oh dear Gooner I have just come on site and read your post and am still trying to get my mind around it. Why? oh Why? Thanks be to God that you are not a part of the footy department because if you were we would be sitting in the bottom four of the ladder every year, perhaps you like the idea and the pain but I surely don't.
  24. I would say The Dees toughest and wish you a speedy recovery
  25. I have been away for several days and did not see or hear the game in Adelaide so cannot say much about the game however on reading the above posts it seems that a lot of the younger guys are getting towards the end of a long and tiring season for them. So lets pull back a little and stop trying to crucify the likes of Trengove, ,Bails and Bennel and remember they are basically first year players and are still developing.
