Changes for next week

In: Bail, Sylvia, Jurrah

Out: Grimes(INJ), Spencer, Bartram, maybe Jetta/Bennell

Other possible inclusions could be Warnock and Morton, depending on match-ups with Joel mac and Riv the likely omissions. With Chip going to Hurley and either Riv/Warnock going to Gumbleton could mean Garland would be on either a small bombers forward like Zaharakis, Davey, Jetta, etc.

I hope the club give Cheney at least another week to see if he is up to the standard. On numerous occassions during the Saints game he was very slow to kick the footy and his skills were quite poor. Same with Bartram, whose kicking skills are terrible. Would've like to have seen Strauss replace him as he is a better kick, although Bartram's defensive tagging and pressure have been fantastic all season which Strauss does lack.

Strauss also lacking an unstrained medial ligament.

Whoa !! Cheney horrible ?? I think you need to watch the game again. Cheney held Goddard well all night and I thought made the effort to create a contest whenever near the play (unlike a few). I personally would have Cheney, Dunn and Bennell as our best, So any talk of these three being dropped needs a re-watch.

Haha. Goddard well held. Mate, watch the tape again, again.

Nobody has held Goddard all night, he's been a matchwinner in most of his games against the best. I think cheney did reasonably well on him, a big call to give him such a big task.

I like Bail, balance poise and agood head for decisions. He can , and does, have it within to take a game on and we need players like that. A good user of the ball and a handy kick either end. Seemed to be growing in confidence and belief in being there til his recent injury.

Bang on. His willingness to run hard is what we need. + his ability to make good decisions and have solid skills to execute it. He plays two way football.

He is what i wanted to see Simon Buckley do. Buckley might be faster and stronger but Bail's got him in everything else.

I think he'll be an excellent 16-22 player on our list and a big part of the rebuild.

Bennell's going to be in that category too. Good player building and should be something in 3 years. Stick with him.

OUT: Grimes, Macdonald

Jurrah doesnt need to lead up the ground. If he can sit in the forward 50 most of the day things will happen - he's just that sort of player. That allows Watts to play up the ground more and Bate to lead from CHF.

Bad Call. When he hangs around in the forward fifty he gets monstered by the bigger defenders. We saw how well that worked in the pre-season. He was awful when they made him play out of the goalsquare. He needs to be able to rove freely. Play him on the half forward flank and give him license to float into the midfield or drag his man deep to the square as required. Using him as FF or CHF is a waste of his abilities.

Jurrah has a brilliantly instinctive footy brain. Just let him roam.. the opposition will have to cover him and think there's a plan. Jurrah static is not good.

Cheney did not even make an impression against Goddard.

Very little to crow about from the Saints game. He will need to lift for the next game. There aint the big names in the Bombers team.

The name of one player to be recalled is already commanding respect and angst amongst Bomber fans. This man is universally admired and respected. Yes our own X-man... Liam Jurrah. He already cast some spell over them and he has taken to the field yet. Here's a bloke just about everyone loves to watch play. Doesnt it make you feel good he wears red and blue :)

No one player will be able to cover Liam,(hell he can find a path to kick a footy through a DJ_Myers sale opening !! ) so either they attempt to quieten him and open upthe rest of the forward line to Bates and Watts or they gamble on pushing him up field ( which he'll only revel in ) Looking forward to Sunday :)

Absolutely agree I feel sick everytime someone names their best side and puts him at full forward

I have noticed that when we list an extended bench it is often the last three players listed that drop out.

That being the case this week Jetta, Maric and Jurrah will be playing for Casey.

I have seen Jurrah play in is two come back games and will be very surprised if he gets the nod for Sunday.

He still looks under done at VFL level let alone at the top level but who knows stranger thinks have happened.

Interesting that we are considering giving PJ another run I thought his papers were stamped

but he is the only other option as a second ruckman with Spencer injured.

Please don't mention Newton he is on the rookie list and cannot play even though I would like to give him a go.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
