Agree with this. PJ will be told to do more - and Bartram will be warned not to lose his feet again when the pressure is on.

bail had a quad injury, and i think that is why he hasnt been playing.

Bail fits perfectly into the team with his hard running, and good disposal.

Jamar won the ruck contest, but got dominated around the ground, didnt show hudson any respect.

Paul Johnson, will probably stay in the team. give him another crack as it was obvious the conditions helped no talls.

Why would we drop bartram, i think he will match up perfectly on lecras, and gave us that run out of the backline that we desperately needed on friday.

Dunn could be the only player to be omitted, and i would like to see morton if fit come back into the squad or watts to have a crack, yet i wouldnt be suprised if there is no

change as i think that dunn is just two or three small errors away from a really good game.

Also what do people think on bennell, i think that bennell could be omitted to give another small forward a go, jetta or maric, just for a rest, he did some good things on friday, but was a bit to inconsistent i feel.

Yes, Watts had his best game so far for Casey. 4 goals. But that was against the Richmond reserves. Give him another at Casey before you all get excited.

WC strength is their rucks (Cox/NicNat). Can't go in with Jamar alone. Keep PJ, or drop him and bring in Spencer. Or bring in Spencer, drop Dunn and rotate 3 rucks against 2.

Only other players doing extra well at Casey are Gysberts and Jetta. Anyone?

I would probably make no change. It was pleasing to see Watts do well in the VFL, but I don’t think bringing him in this week will enhance our chances of winning. (After all, this should be the main aim of team selection.) I would also like to see him string a few good games together in the VFL in order to earn a call up.

I also think Dunn deserves another chance, as his form has been solid this season. He was nowhere near as bad against the Dogs as has been suggested on this site (as usual). In my opinion, Dunn is generally well skilled, but makes a few mistakes due to being low on confidence. I think he has the potential to improve substantially once he becomes truly comfortable in his own mind that he belongs as an AFL player.

Looking at the match ups, I think Frawley will play on Le Cras, who is the Eagle’s best forward. That means that Warnock, Rivers and Garland will have to play on Kennedy, Lynch and McKinley. Cox or Naitanui may also go forward if Worsfold tries to stretch or backline. This could be a worry, so Bailey might consider recalling in Martin for PJ, as Martin is probably slightly more comfortable down back. The other option for Le Cras is Bartram. (If we decide to go that way I would definitely leave PJ in the side.)

Frawley will take LeCras I think. He did that last year at the G and owned him, and I'm pretty sure he did it again at Casey in the pre-season.

Bartram, though, should stay as he tagged Cooney well last week. He's doing his role.

One game is not enough. Consistency at Casey is needed before we rush him into the AFL.

I'd find it harsh on Cheney and McNamara if Watts got in on the back of one game when these two have been stringing together good games all year, and much of last year too.

Morton certainly needed the run last Saturday but in my view is not yet match fit. I would give him one more week at Casey. Gysberts is not ready to debut yet. will be a great players, but is not yet either fit enough or hard enough for the seniors

watts should never be risked in the ruck at the moment. It would be a bit like copying Hawthorn when they had Hodge in the ruck recently - crazy stuff.

On his contribution to the team this year Dunn shouldn't be anyone's whipping boy .... and he won't get dropped. Give him a break.

Hughes did all that could have been expected of him last week. They wouldn't have put him in in the first place if they weren't prepared to give him an opportunity to build on a satisfactory start.He won't get dropped either.

I agree absolutely that they won't put Watts in the ruck - which means that he will have to consolidate at Casey and that there will be no change.

I'd love to find a spot for Morton .. but unless you drop Bartram ( which would be tough) or rest Bennell ( which I doubt), he'll have to have another run at Casey - which will be good for him anyway

IMO - There is simply no chance that Bailey will drop Hughes or PJ after one outing. Regardless of this - Hughes was perfectly serviceable, good leads, can kick a goal, worked hard both ways.

Dunn seems to be the only one that may possibly come out but I dont think Watts, Morton or Wonna looked ready on the weekend.

No change looks reasonably likely, however there may be some injury or niggle that opens up other options.

I think the Gizmo will get a run when one of Sculls, Trenners or jordie takes a break to rest up.

Rewatching the replay today of the last quarter Danny Hughes looked like he had a small ping of his hamstring. He seemed to run it out though.

Bail's been out for 3 weeks with that injury now, he's going to have to come back through Casey as well. It's shocking luck for him, he was playing great footy, but that's what it's like playing in a competitive, emerging team.

In the eyes of bailey watts has played more than 1 good game this year, he stated all he needed was to get goals next to his name and he has now done that.

Going along the same line, we should play Bell, Miller and Newton this week. If not now, when?

If the FD thinks Watts is ready (which I don't think they will), Dunn will go. No one else deserves it except Johnson, but we need a second ruckman against West Coast so he stays (unless, of course, Martin gets a reprieve, but that too won't happen).

Even if Watts isn't ready, Dunn can still go IMO and we can bring in McNamara or Cheney, or maybe even Jetta. Dunn's time is up.

I don't think Morton is fit yet or has his touch back just yet. But I agree that this may be a good time to chuck Gysberts in as another inside ball extractor to see just how we measure up against our future rivals. So, we'd have McKenzie & Gysberts extracting & feeding out to those running the ball.

Remember we need to get games into our future this year, I reckon the Gys is the goss'. For who, they'd be unlucky, whoever they'd be.

I am enjoying the kind of 'earn your spot' culture that the MFC is creating at the moment. I think its flowing onto the senior guys and we are producing some very good footy.
