  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Ah what a shame, I've already made plans to go to the G with mates to see the Bombers and Blues game. Would have been great to head down to watch this one.

Good luck to all the Dees boys.

No Blease???

I reckon they will manage Sam very conservatively. If he is fit I suspect he might play a half or a bit more with Casey ressies.

Shattered by the night game. Was planning to go down Saturday as well.

How about that forward line, the Spencil at FF and the Stefan Martin Experience in a pocket. Imagine if we got Juice down there as well.

A big welcome to up to half a dozen possible "newcomers" to the Casey Scorpions line up. Five VFL listed players could be making their debuts tomorrow night plus another who had one game last year as a TAC Cup "guest" under the 23rd player rule:

* Cam Purdy 20.06.1989 191cm 90kg (East Ringwood) - comes to the club with a very good reputation in the eastern suburban competition as a versatile key position player.

* Mitch Dowse  24.09.1991 176cm 77kg (Heyfield) - slippery customer from Gippsland Power who had one game for Casey last year as a 23rd player.

* Matt Fieldsend 14.12.1985 178cm 79kg (De La Salle) - shared the honours last year for VAFA A Section best and fairest (with a De La Salle teammate!).

* McDonald Luke 29.04.1990 195cm 92kg (Eastern Ranges) - key position forward from Eastern Ranges who led the 2009 TAC Cup goalkicking.

* Danny Nicholls 02.03.1987 177cm 80kg (Rowville) - former Collingwood listed player who has impressed as a busy small over the pre season.

* Plummer Ricky 11.06.1991 175cm 73kg (Peninsula Grammar/Mount Eliza) - clever small man could force his way into the team for round 1.

I am amazed McKenzie would be named for Casey, (i'm aware he is named for Melbourne as well). But given his form at AFL level I would have thought he wouldn't be available for Casey.

I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow, but if he lines up for Casey I'll be very dissapointed.

Everyone named on the extended bench for the seniors has been named for Casey also. Therefore, 4 of those named for Casey will actually play for Melbourne, I will bet my house that McKenzie plays on Sunday.

If he's 100% going to play for Melbourne, I don't see the wisdom in naming him on the field for Casey. Not a big deal at all, just seems odd.

confused how mitch duncan from the cats is in the centre line for both the vfl and afl match

Thanks to some of my spies from down at Geelong, the Cats' side has now been updated. It doesn't look anywhere near as formidable as the original published side which had 17/18 AFL listed players.

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
