I think that's the point.

With 6 or so of our best 22 out, we took a premiership contender missing potentially just 1 player from their best team all the way to the line.

I think the salient point is we were very competitive without the players you mentioned and this shows the team is heading in the right direction. I particularly liked the game plan which sought to isolate the pies run with defenders and put them under pressure.....keep up the resurgence.

Go dees.

Gawn also could be very handy going forward with his size!

SO many options coming our way, you will need a shoehorn just to squeeze into the best 22! It will be that tight!

Met Max's parents at the game. They were quietly sitting there, listening to my rubbishing of Collingwood and there supporters around me, and we started chatting.

They were both very nice, not that tall but extremely happy with the club and all the players. Said how players all texted Max when he was drafted and how some came to visit him when he was drafted and how many of the young players visit each other and eat together and get along really well.

Said he was back doing rehab and will be playing be in full training in 6-8 weeks. Said he could train more now but they are being precautionary.

They aren't words, they are names. A word is something like cat, or fridge.

In saying that i'd say there is more than 4 names but i'm typing laying sideways on my bed and my head is at a funny angle to my shoulder and it hurts to type so /post

I'm pretty sure "rivers" is a word. And Morton as in "more tonne" is two words. But I can't wait until "cat" and "fridge" are both lining up for us on a consistent basis. Then we'll be doing great.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
