Ball is an AA, a former captain, a B&F winner & was one of St. Kilda's best players in the GF, Scully on the other hand could be the next Jack Watts.

I heard Ball wants to team up with goldsack, they are known as ballsack. You can add in jolly-dick.

What the hell does that mean? Does the word WATTS cause a subliminal reaction that makes people instantly post retarded [censored] all over the internet?

I wasn't impressed by Watts at all at an APS level. I wasn't surprised by his 09' based on what I saw at an APS level.

If you look at the draftees last year, Rich, Hurley, Hill, Naitanui, Beams & co showed a lot more than Watts. I'd be spewing if Collingwood took Watts ahead of Hurley.

Why dont you go crawl back under the rock that you and your collingwood inbred mates come from, we have no interest in what your opinion is on anything including football?

And when Watts and Scully are superstars you can cry in shame with the fact that we used are number 1 picks wisely and didnt blow them on a soft as butter ruckmen like you maggots did!

In describing Ball you should have used the adjective "former" when referring to all of his attributes. Fact is that he's a has been and Ross Lyon knew exactly what he was doing with the broken down hack with the big head. So too did the recruiting staff at several clubs who passed on the million dollar man with the 50 cent body.

You don't like Jack Watts? You expected Melbourne to take a schoolboy doing his VCE and play him for 22 games in his debut season so that they break down his mind and his body the way Malthouse did with Josh Fraser all those years ago?

Happy with your drafting? Let's see ... one cripple (Ball), a reject from a club that hasn't yet come into the competition (Thomas) and a reject from the wooden spoon club who has OP and can't kick (Bucks).

No wonder you find the need to troll around opposition sites making comments that put even the most imbecilic muppet to shame!

Actually like Troy Talyor & Dayne Beams, Thomas rejected GC's offer to put him on their list. He was sounded out by Hine to not take up their offer & is considered an upgrade of Beams, a player who came 4th in the RS in 09'

Christ, I didn't know Shifter Sheehan posted here. Thanks for your expert opinion.

Your prob right...I just hate them thats all...

Everyone hates the pies. My wifes cousins husband is from Fiji and he went to a collingwood v essendon game and he said that the pies supporters were a bunch of animals.

LOL, the pies are disliked on an international level!!!!!

Right. The other 15 clubs whose talent scouts saw him play for Gold Coast in the TAC U18 comp are all such idiots that they allowed a player of second round standard in a weakened draft slip down to 75. The comparison with Beams doesn't stand up either apart from the fact they come from the same part of the world. Beams is 10cm taller than the light and tiny Thomas although I will give you two things:

1. He's faster than Ball and

2. He can kick further than Ball (30m).

I wish him all the best.

Ball's parents could have pulled him out at Year 7 and saved heaps on education at Xavier, if they knew he intended to play for Collingwood.

Actually, Beams & Thomas are both inside midfielders who excel at clearances.

The same 15 clubs passed on the opportunity to draft Beams & considering he came fourth in the overall RS, it would appear a mistake on their part. Only Brisbane indicated they would take Beams & this would have been with a late pick, not the best point on your part.

I look forward to Thomas joining our midfield rotation that includes Sidebottom & Beams & seeing them give out their annual 10 goal hiding to Melbourne on QB.

Actually it means nothing. Bartram came in the top 5 of the rising star and he barely kept his place on the list a few years later. PROVING the fact that goes over your pea-sized intellect. The rising star is another media-based award that means exactly nothing. Even the winners of the award discount it as meaning very little, except as advertising for their club, and a bit more pocket money.

Though I don't expect this childish little twerp to respond... And if he does, I'll remind him of his "response" when he believed his side was going to win the last match they played. How much did the Pies lose by again? Oh and what was the other howler? You think the other clubs would have taken Sidebottom... (or Anthony/Cloke for that matter) ahead of Watts when even West Coast admitted they'd take Watts if we took NicNat...

Consider yourself educated, little boy. I'm certain it would be the first time in your life you'd experienced anything resembling an education, going by the huge load of steaming crap you've posted here.

How much longer are the mods on here going to put up with innane posts from opposition supporters intended only to cause problems here? This guy makes Y_M look like Mother Teresa.

Xavier's got a bad enough reputation as it is - without this bloke dragging it even deeper into the mire.

In our case, Heath Shaw came 2nd in the 06 overall award, Pendlebury 2nd in the 07 count. They have both turned fairly OK later in their careers...

Wow! So that's how the Rising Star works. If you play for the Pies and finish high up in the votes, it means you will turn out to be a handy player. Thanks for that wonderful insight.

I'm pretty sure once a player finishes top 5 in the Rising Star they can retire a legend of the game, or has that been changed?

Posted

The Rising Star is a token award; nothing more than a popularity contest.

Hence I've been able to win over $1000 over the last 3 years on it purely by following the media and putting my money on their darling.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

A little late but the best (Flying high) response on this subject. Why do we give this turd (OX) any response at all. We passed up 4 opportunities to pick up this injury plaged player and yet the B&WC gloats! I bet he still swallows the battler Broady Eddy line too!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
