You are joking aren't you? Trying not to have a personal attack on someone here, but gee Keyser, that is a STUPID comment to say we could finish above Brisbane. I will place any bet with you that Brisbane will finish higher that us. They will give top 4 a shake - I don't think we will.

You really think Brisbane will be that much better with Fev?

I think considering the shake-up their list has had it will take them some time to gel.

I don't think their forward-line will function as well as they'd hope.

But for me, Bris have no hope of making top 4.

We shall see.

In 2009 we had a tough draw, early defeats, a big injury list and ... er, the tanking list management issues in the last half of the season. Result = only 4 wins. However, that could easily have read 7 - 8 wins with a few of those factors mentioned above idling in neutral rather than working strongly against us.

I therefore don't discount an improvement well beyond most expectations with many of the young players maturing in mind and body as well as those in the 50 to 100 game region taking further steps up. Our draw is a little easier and if we can break the injury curse we could rise up the ladder significantly.

Possibly 12 wins.

We will be pushing for a finals spot I would think. With our draw, enthusiasium and recruiting it would not surprise me. We should have finished further up the ladder last season except for the priority pick. We will fly under everybodies radar this season.

Expect alot of excitement Demon fans! It is going to be one hell of a ride. We are out to win this season!

Time to stop thinking in terms of draft picks.. we have a list..its about to be topped up rather nicely. Anyone that comes along from now on(2010 and on ) is possibly adding only a little icing to it.

It needs to finish as high as it possibly can.. theres no other measure of success for us now.. its achieve or be damned !!

I understand the premise of the thread...but its a half empty atttitude... It has to stop

This thread was actually a half-full attitude! We are all screaming out for a KPF in this draft to fill the hole. The reality is that we may not take one, as the quality of what's available isn't great. What I was trying to get at is that if we don't pick one up, it's not the end of the world as we will have a pick somewhere in the middle of the first round next year. If we don't get one at pick 11 or 18 this year, it's only because we have snagged another midfielder/and or ruck.

apologies as wasnt that clear as such

I agree...pointless to think its be all and end all this year. Im not sure we dont have reason to think there wont be a genuine contender for that KPF come the end of next season. . More games in some folk may well yet provide dividends.

If Thorpe is taken he may well turn into that missing link. A tallish non-ruckman will be taken somewhere amongst our 6 picks...providing another potential candidate. I think with another 20-25 games in to some of these guys the picture will be clearer..

Along the lines of your premise ( possibly ) we dont need to get it perfect this year..we have a little time

It'll be great not thinking about the priority pick next season, or any draft picks for that matter. I know it's already been said, but we have a quality, young list that we need to pump games into.

I'm worried about our first 10 games. I can see three winnable games - we don't want it to be some lopsided figure like 1-9 or 2-9, we desperately need early wins.

Only 3 in the first 10?? I know we've been carp the last few years, but try not to be such a pessimist...

Don't want to sound mean or the like, but at the moment I can only see the draft which is 6 days away. Beyond that there is Santa. (Perhaps J.MacDonald in the PSD too).

Relax. All in good time.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
