I don't think Bartram is contracted beyond this season and it would be a minor miracle for him to be re-signed IMO. Which is a shame, because he's a great kid who gives his all and has had a terrible year already.

Poor Clint. Ill wait till then to see what does happen but always put 100%. He always attacked the ball and put his body on the line.

...he might be in the number 3 (ex gary lyon)

That sounds like obvious speculation to me. I didn't see the show, but it's pretty obvious they would stir the pot with Garry on the show.

Hadn't watched TFS until tonight , there wasn't much stirring. Hutchy briefly mentioned that Scully may be announced as the No1 draft pick in a couple of weeks. Brayshaw quipped it will be even "more interesting who Melbourne choose with their No2 pick."

I know the AFL probably won't allow it, but is there anyway we could have Scully training with us when preseason starts in October?

That would be nice, but there's no way the AFL will allow it, considering they've just moved the draft into a prime-time spot so that Foxtel can make a big deal about it. They want the focus to be in November, not October.

We'll let Scully know that he will be the 1st picked, but I imagine the AFLPA would have some stern things to say if we tried to get him to train with us before he was drafted.

No new info here, just a general reinforcement post.

I saw Tom Scully play today. even in the wet this kid is all class. As we all know his hands are amazing, but his kicking was also very good. Low bullet stab passes and penetrating longer kicks, this guy will definitely be a star! Also, his work rate is amazing, he played off a wing all day and just kept running. Solid all round performance.

I can't wait to see him in a demon jumper!

His kick is no better or worse than Judd's at the time.

In terms of technique, there are players everywhere in the league who have ugly, or less than orthodox kicks, but still seem to get the job done time after time. They are the ones who have great football brains, and a level of intuition that enables them to predict what's going to happen downfield. Or perhaps more accurately they CHOOSE what will happen downfield by their actions directly, by kicking the ball somewhere the forwards can find it more easily. It's a player's football brain that defines the outcome of plays, quarters and matches more than the attractiveness of their kicks.

Don't get me wrong, when you get both in a player (Davey) then it's sublime to watch. But personally I'd take a quick thinker over a pretty kicker any day. Especially in our team, that is bereft of leaders and decision makers.

Watching Scully, it's almost as if he chooses where his handball's going to end up before he meets the footy. Sometimes he receives the tap on the run, and dstarts the action of dishing off a 15 metre handpass to a player on the run... all in one action. It's kind of freaky actually. From what little I've seen it's not clear that he can deliver by foot over 50 metres quite as effectively, but perhaps maturity and confidence will be the key there.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
