is the saints late form a concern for them, they have a habbit of dropping good season.

could this late form drop effect there finals?

The Saints won't win the flag they have a losing culture that they can't break. It doesn't matter how good there team is they will eventually crack the bulldogs are the same.

Unfortunately I can't see anyone beating those scumbags Collingwood for the flag, maybe Geelong if they get there players fit but that looks unlikely.

Oh NO!!!! Perhaps Hawthorn could knock Collingwood off in Week 2, or 3....I hope!

Of course it could. This will be the real test of Ross Lyon & his footy Dept.

They Have been superb but the job is not done yet, & no doubt the supporters will be restless for all of this week!

Sadly the Filth are looking the goods right now...

Its a long season, & each year the bar is raised.

Its pretty even for the whole eight at the minute.

A wet Day could bring any result.

Should be a good ride.

Its going to be an interesting finals series. A couple of months ago is was a lock for Saints v Cats. Now its opening up.

It is frightening to think that Collingwood are a genuine possibility. God help us. Anyone but them.

Odds have tightened up.

ST KILDA 3.00

GEELONG 3.40

COLLINGWOOD 3.65

I suspect the odds will get very tight by next sunday night.

If Hawthorn Get in, they could (Big ask i know) do some damage.

They are a september club, they better get Roughead out of hospital quick smart!

FFS.....betting odds have infected demonland of late. These campanies are very smart. This year they have stepped up their advertising on the footy show and so on for NRL and AFL and it seems to have infected both codes. Just about everytime I hear a game preview these days I hear the odds on who is going to kick the first goal or whatever crap they say.

Danger game, like last week, for sure.

Saints would be hoping for a soft game, as they're under the pump. They'll just do what they need, and hope for no injuries, much like the Blues this last week.

Again, should be enough, but I have a feeling we'll see another half like the first one last weekend.

I was always of the opinion that it was going to fall apart for St Kilda in September but it looks like it's happening early. It's very easy to look good in the home & away season and get everybody on the bandwagon calling you flag favourites, but that all counts for nothing in the finals. The Saints got flogged by Geelong and Hawthorn in the finals last year, they might be a better side this year but it's all about getting it down in September, something I think is still a bit beyond them and something despite losing the Grand Final last year, the Cats do very very well.

The 2 game losing streak only helps our priority pick cause, the Saints actually have something to play for this week.

A very clever friend of mine said, many years ago, that the Saints will always find a way to stuff it up.

I think he may be right. They did it in 97 (I think, maybe 96) again in 2004ish (The Gehrig years).

I hope he's wrong eventually. They deserve a lot more than to bow out in straight sets.

Clever teams come right at this time of year..seems teh Sainters peaked too early.. if the Filth have their wobble..teh Saints have their Faints !!

Theyought to acount for us this comingweekend but idont ( now ) like their chances come the sharp end of the season. They dont seemto be able to perform when it really matters.

witness... StKilda need a goal to win... choke

North need a goal to win... nail it.

Its all in the head and Im starting to wonder if the Saints arent a victim of over achieving and now doubt is creeping in.

The swans ended their premiership drought a few years ago, like 80 something years or around that, alot anyways,

Then geelong like a couple of years ago, ended about a 40 something year drought...

If the saints win it this year, surely theres a trend happening here...and will keep happening... for us, won't it?? *cries*

Apple crumble! No, I think they'll beat us next week and win their first match as well.

Reiwoldt apparently has knee concerns... oh no.

Davey looked a little pale on the weekend. Rest him.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
