Cam Bruce out for season

Cam Bruce is all class. Sure he makes a few poor turnovers, but it is pretty hard to hit leads that are not being made. I really think he adds so much composure and class to a side that sorely lacks exactly this. In three 3 or so years time he may be sidelined by other talent, but I am bloody thankful that he is/was in the side. Such a shame injury has struck him also.

What rotten luck. Bail has done his quad, I heard Wheatley also injured himself at Casey in the warm up as well. Now Bruce.

Can we even field a side this week?

RR, Rogue, 45h, Roost It, Y_M, WJ, Fan, BB, Jaded, QueenC, Demonland, Enforcer25, WYL, Redleg, Doggo, Jarka, Eastie Boyz, you've all been summoned.......it's time to pull on the boots. The club needs you.

PS. I'm coaching. Any assistants...? ;)

Injury list as at 4 August 2009

Brent Moloney – Groin – Test

Brock McLean – Knee – Test

Jordie McKenize – Calf – Test

Liam Jurrah – Ankle – Test

Jack Grimes – Hip Flexor – Test

Stefan Martin – Calf – Test

Jack Watts – Hand – 1 week

Paul Wheatley – Quad – 1-2 week

Mark Jamar – Quad – 1-2 weeks

Matthew Whelan – Plantar Fascia – 2 weeks

Jamie Bennell – Knee – 2-3 weeks

Rhys Healey – Quad – Indefinite

Brad Green – Wrist – Season

Daniel Bell – Shoulder – Season

So from this we can add in:

Rohan Bail - Quad - ?? - 3 weeks left, probably put him in wool.

Makes for pretty depressing reading eh?

What about me.... :(:(

Seriously, though, this is a long injury list. A lot of those listed as 'test' will need to come up in order for us to put a team on the park that will win this weekend.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
