Daniel Bell ROFL

We are tanking for sure.

Na! I recon it is his last chance opportunity to stay with MFC in the long term. I would say that a few player may get this last op to in the next few weeks.

Not overly impressed that neither Cheney nor Bennell is playing, but I suppose we're playing for a priority pick as well as the future.

Including Bennell & Cheney is not going to have a major effect on weather we win or lose this game. Both have shown steady form in the seniors so this is a decision I simply dont understand.

They (Bennell & Cheney) both are young and have shown enough in the early stages of development to be secure on the list. By playing Dunn & Bell (list managing), the club can determine their future having played 45 & 63 games respectively. Read threads for confirmation.

Exactly.

As an aside, Valenti, Hughes (both rookies), and Bail (underwhelming mature-aged recruit), you'd think, will all get one final chance at some stage to consolidate their spot on the list before the year is out. Even if it's just for one or two games, the pressure will be huge for those 3.

Your on the money here HT.

Personally, I'd rather give Bennell the experience than play Bell.

agreed mate, they dropped bennell for QB clash,i had the pleasure of having a chat with him that day,he was very dissapointed, out of the kids we drafted last season IMO bennell is the lad that has stood out.

List management at its finest!

Both Bell and Dunn have been good at casey from all reports so they deserve to show if they have something to offer the club for the future before seasons end. Perfect time to do all this. We know the position we are in and looking at these fringe players to make an assessment on them of if to keep them or delist.

Hoping for a good contest but for the first time think its a must to lose this game in the grand scheme of things. I dont care about priority pick but i care about getting Tom Scully, he is that impressive.

Bail has a 2 year contract, as he was drafted in the national draft... He's safe for the time being...

Valenti, we have to either promote him or let him go I believe... If we don't promote him, we can re-rookie him, but would have to do so through the draft...

Hughes is in the first year of his rookie contract, so we can extend this to a 2nd year if we so wish... Which I think we will do...

This is tanking. I don't see how Dunn and Bell deserve to get another chance to prove themselves. Haven't we seen enough of them already to know that they're not good enough at AFL level and are just wasting space on our list?

I think we can all see what's going to happen. Neither Bell nor Dunn will do anything spectacular, they will continue playing mediocre football and will be delisted. I would much rather see Bennell playing instead of Bell.

It is not tanking, your thinking into it to much. Giving these players a game is about giving them another chance and working out if we should keep them, delist them or trade them. Its not tanking.

Not tanking. Dunn and Bell aren't going to give us any further chance of losing than Bennell, Miller, Bartram etc would.

I think Bails just wants to see where there at before the end of season delistings.

Dunn and Bell have been around for long enough to realise they don't cut the mustard at the highest level.... I believe Dunn may one day cut it, but it won't be at this club....

This is tanking.

Both Bell and Dunn have been in the best players at Casey for the past two or three weeks. One of them replaces a player out suspended. If we really were tanking, we would have tanked it big time last week when it really would have made a difference. The fat, swarthy looking bloke who runs the caper got it right when he said that clubs don't tank!

How you could not care about getting gifted a free pick in the top 3 is beyond me.

"Here, have Griffen for nothing". "Oh, no thanks, we're right".

Makes perfect sense H.

What support in their right mind would agree to taking Franklin...or Pendlebury... or Kreuzer/Judd... or Mclean...Koschitzke...Pavlich...

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
