Our dear Grimes leads the averages, another 8 games and some consistency should see him accross the line in my opinion!

GO JACK!

And you know what else..?

At this pace Jack Watts will be eligible to win it next season, after having had a proper pre-season bulking up...

that is, unless Scully steals it from him.

Broughton would deserve one soon wouldn't he?

He'd have to.

They'll probably wait for the Freo v WC Derby to give it to him.

Posted

I'm pretty sure he's eligible, he's just no Jack Grimes ;)

I'm thinking of heading to the Demon Megastore on Sunday and having a big #16 printed on my signed 2009 guernesy. This kid is going to be an absolute gem for the MFC, add to that, that he and his family are lifelong, diehard supporters of the club! It doesn't get much better than that! Go Grimesy!

Just watched the game again.

Wow. 7 touches in 4 minutes and 10 seconds when the game was on.

I love the way he floats accross the packs and marks. He's a quick thinker. He's got the right nous and leadership which our side has craved for sometime. Is he your new lovechild 45h? Has he taken Wheels mantle?

I claimed him after the Swans preseason game.

It's a sad/excited time for my poor old heart!

Yeah it was an impressive passage of the game....gets better every time I watch it...

Does the unthinkable happen to the screen name?

haha I ordered it like that 4 weeks ago. Kept thinking to myself - "he'd bloody well better justify this..."

Can't believe I ever doubted him

By the way HighTower, welcome to 2 weeks ago... http://forums.demonland.com/index.php?show...mp;#entry242417 :P

Very good. Grimes's average has improved since then. We need to keep on top of things hey.. :P

Feel free to read my siggy for updates on J.Grimes for the Rising Star. It's keeping track of Grimes as he reels in Rich.

I hope those judges haven't closed the book on young Jack just yet....

Good work, maybe you could getthe betting odds on them to ;)

Rich was so influential tonight. Foot skills are some of the best in the AFL, really good decision maker.

As much as I love Grimesy, I think Rich deserves the Rising Star.

Agree Dannyz.

Broughton with 29 touches surely, surely deserves the nomination after 8 stellar games. Not that average possessions means anything really, but he has easily the highest average of anyone on HT's list. However, will being a part of a team that got murdered cost him a nom?

Yes i think so. Can Rich get his 2nd nomination? 32 disposals. Your turn Grimes .

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
