Agreed.

Not sure whether either deserve a game based on their form today, but we are so desperate for some good ball users, that these two will be a welcomed inclusion.

Very predictable for the team to win the last quarter again after being blown out.

It actually looked like we were running harder in that last quarter than any other, but of course the Lions were just running slower.

Why does Cale Morton never turn around when he takes a mark? He always stands with his back to our goals looking to dish. Clearly another coaching directive.

We are so poor at center bounces and around the ground stoppages? (and we have been for so many years now i could almost cry). Why is it when ever we actually get it tapped down to us we are tackled immediately, yet when the Lions have it tapped to them, it is about 2 or 3 effective disposals with no pressure straight into their forward 50?

Why do we suck?????

From the sounds of things we had a hard time putting our head over the pill tonight and you want to add Strauss who has struggled with the physical aspects of VFL footy.

We need to play a team that will run hard and compete for the footy in contested situations. Bring in Bartram, Dunn and Bell and tell them they are on their last chance. Also bring in someone with form from Casey. Drop whoever you please.

In 2009 all you need to worry about for Mclean is clearances. He has done very well in this area this year, just has a bad game tonight.

I wont go into his kicking but I dont expect a lot from him. 2009 will be a big year for him.

valenti must come in as he is someone who can get his hands on the footy. mckenzie should even be considered as he is fearless at the ball Our team has lost focus to attack the ball.More worried about zoning off or run with roles.mclean seemed to have a run with role with luke powere. He couldnt keep up. He looks old and slow .Jones is struggling.

We have recruited to many light bodied players I blame craig cameron who is now at richmond maybe there is a common theme there . i would be targeting morabito as a priority bigger bodied quick and can play .

Robbo has to go back to casey, but who do you replace him with? the only good thing about him at the moment is that he takes the 1st or 2nd best defender, other than that he flops around more than Lloyd from a few years back. You could add whelan to the list of the can go back to casey, he could possibly hold hands with Brad Miller and skip down there.

BS robbo was good tonight, when the ball was delivered to him he created a contest and took good marks and made [censored] kicks look ok.

Petterd to GC17 whelan out mclean rested give him a week or wat ever he need if he has an injury then back to casey.

Miller out for bate. Bring in valenti who trys his heart out at casey and definitely deserves a proper go, strauss in i he played well enough in the second half, and if freo can keep throwing kids in so can we. Also time for hughes to debut, been on the rookie list for a while now what the hell are we waiting for.

Time to just play the young kids cus what the hell are the senior blokes providing if they cant perform them selves.

Russell Robertson has 5 disposals for the ENTIRE GAME. Enough said.

Why would GC17 want Ricky Petterd? Seriously?

Didnt someone say they were looking at him? i dont no just hope they do want him.

And robbo played deep most the game and he was good, just about all of his disposals were shots at goal.

And his defensive pressure was better.

Why does Cale Morton never turn around when he takes a mark? He always stands with his back to our goals looking to dish. Clearly another coaching directive.

His confidence is destroyed. There's no incentive to play on if you know there isn't likely to be anyone up ahead likely to compete well enough to make it worth your while.

And that's the thing about losses like these: screw putting game-time into kids, this kind of [censored] is going to make them worse in the long-run, not better. Morton was drafted as a gun kick, and showed that in his first few games, but he's almost gone backwards since then. Put anyone of these kids into a good team and they would have the ability to become guns overnight, but put them in a team that can hardly be comptitive for a quarter a week and watch them stall on the ball and develop bad habits. All we're doing is destroying their confidence to play at this level. Put Watts back in the 2nds before it gets him too!

And that's why all this talk of getting picks one and two bewilders me: what difference is it going to make? No 17 year old can be placed in a culture like this and expect to develop as a player. Selwood and Rich prosper because they have the guys to learn the right habits from: who are Scully and Butcher going to learn from? How are they going to develop in a team that can only kick 2 goals in three quarters?

Sod it. I can only summon the emotion to make a post like this because I'm 2.5 sheets into the wind. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have slumped back into the kind of numb indifference that following a team like this for two decades quickly forces you to master.

However, this is the sort of stuff that goes too far. Watts is 18, 85 kg and playing in the forward line for a team that has a completely rubbish midfield. Waaaaaaaaaaay too early to judge.

Early in the year i thought we were improving, now unfortunately we heading downhill fast, the last 3 weeks have been shocking, whats going on ? We are back to where we were last year if not worse. The only good Mature players have been Davey and Sylvia, which means with us relying on our youngsters we have a long long wait.

Anyone who thinks that Naitanui is a dud is a dead set fool, the kid is going to be a bloddy great player.

Exactly, Kicked 3 goals tonight.

He is playing with no engine, will be fantastic player when his fitness improves.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
