  1. about time a few of you agreed with me .Yes trade mclean immediately and ensure that valenti stays on the list .I beleive he is our best mid fielder and if the club decides to let him go then watch him turn into the next darren jolly
  2. http://www.google.com/search?q=majak+daw&a...;rlz=1I7GGLR_en youtube reelquite impressive
  3. IDisagree. He is a natural accumulator of the ball and is physically strong , acommon weakness acrossour list. His tackle count is excellent and he would be my first mid fielder selected now and going forward even if afulllist was available Allhe needs is the continued opportunity to play and his self belief wil grow. He does not now at the moment that he will get a regular spot ,but once hebeleives that he has earnt his spot watch this kid grow in his presence on the field. and by the way Im not related to him
  4. I have been saying all year valenti would be myfirst mid fielder selected each week. Your judgment is in youe arse
  5. yes and your racehorsewill run 800 me tres and then put up the white flag Valenti would be in my first 6 picked every weeksbecause he willhave a crack
  6. james mcdonalds skills have always been poor and now as hes gets slower they get even worse ,,,must retire
  7. i no luke ball is not that popular at st kilda and may be on the market next year any thoughts
  8. I am pleased that some of you are starting to beleive in him.he uses the ball very well, although got one smothered today but very seldom misses the target.I would much rather play shane than mclean. There are toomany poor decision makers on our list and getting rid of valenti will be another equally poor decision. Time to go for robbo, miller, junior, bell, whelan, and maybe newtonbut suspect that he stays on the list tocover injuries. am happy the way the list is evolving and I think that bailey has the ship heading in the right direction. Suggestion trade mclean, for another 1st round pick ,and keep focusing on players like jack grimes, maybe his brother is already on the radar
  9. Wheatly is the only one of the four who should stay on the list.He has pace ,uses the ball well and can play small or tall. The other 3 will go.Valenti was oktoday Ilike the way he uses the ball. Got caught twice today but 1 was due to a typically crap kick by junior. If I was managing the list I would trade mclean for a higher pick if anyone would take him.trade miller if you can get anything for him.His kicking is a constant liability.I would keep newton on the list although I am pretty sure he will not succeed.Continue the youth policyand keep playing the valentis ,mckenzie bennell etc
  10. you have got to be kidding .His worst attribute is his disposal,He turns the ball over all the time.Iwould be trading him for whatever you can get.Just lookat travis johnson who cant get a game at brisbane and he was a better player than mclean
  11. i Do not understand the selection strategy at present.I have been pushing for valentis inclusion all year.I rate him highly ,he has had 1 game for the year which was ok ,he is abetter option than mclean as he is a better decision maker than mclean and uses the ball far better.I would be trading mclean if possibel .he would make an excellent ameteur player andhis turnoverswould not be as noticeable in the ameteurs as they are each week now.If sydney is interested it just goes to show how blind our selection process is.He has been caseys best allyear and his time in the 1's last year was excellent and I do not understand why he has had 1 run this year
  12. has made a few errors but realisticallyhe is a genuine star in the making. Hr\e played 1game last year and then had a late start with injury again, he reads the game better than any one at the club and i will suggest that he is captain material going forward. . His chase down in the second quarter was pure when west coast wre running into a goal. we just need valenti to be given some time . I can assure you he can play
  13. If you compare our indiginous kids im not sure thay are going to turn into a wirrapunda or johncock who are hard at the ball
  14. leigh mathews had the same view and he was responsible for the direction of the list that belted us tonight. I blame craig cameron for our list and hes at richmond so say no more there.Light bodied running players are fine if you have the ball but if you look at geelong collingwood stkilda and brisbane tonight thay are physically much bigger ,can break tackles hold a tackle and stand up in contests. Colin slyvia is the right build but we have 2 many players like davy jetta bennel who are not physical add bruce petterd and moreton and we have a very soft bunch of ,yes young kids but not sure if they are going to grow into the physical size that you need to compete with the geelongs of this world
  15. my whole point is that we do not recruit the sort of players that can physically impose them selves on the game I doubt that jack watts wil have the ability to do so even in 3 years time
  16. You only have to watch what he has just done say no more
  17. watching the west coast game against hawthorn and now convinced that natanui was a better option than jack
  18. valenti must come in as he is someone who can get his hands on the footy. mckenzie should even be considered as he is fearless at the ball Our team has lost focus to attack the ball.More worried about zoning off or run with roles.mclean seemed to have a run with role with luke powere. He couldnt keep up. He looks old and slow .Jones is struggling. We have recruited to many light bodied players I blame craig cameron who is now at richmond maybe there is a common theme there . i would be targeting morabito as a priority bigger bodied quick and can play .
  19. brock mclean straght to the 2,s .he has no idea how to kick and 7 touches for the night is a disgrace
  20. The basic issue is that there is no attack at the ball.At every contest melbourne players first thought is the players around or body contact rather than getting your hands on the footy. It is going to be a very long road ahead from here.Too many light bodied players who cant hold a tackle or stand up in a contest.Jack grimes can play and is a shining light for the future. as I said before yesterday valenti should be straight in as he will add some aggression at the ball and in the contested possessions. But to be honest I do not know where they go from here.
  21. I havent contributed on this forum before But my view is that shane Valenti should be given far more consideration . His takling and ball use is excellent,I think he is a good decision maker and although he lacks pace His smarts are more than capable of offsetting his lack of speed.Greg williams lacked pace and he managed to get plenty of the ball. Valentis only game this year was ok and I do not understand why he has seen so few opportunities. Interested in others views
