Of course, that's what a contract is for. My understanding is a player cannot be forced to go but you can imagine the Cash will be out in the trough.

I believe GC have already stated that they are interested in Ricky !!!!!!!

Sadly he would be the perfect age for the new team. My God these new teams are going to be loathed by all.

Ricky will be at Melbourne for the next 10 years.

If we only lose Petterd I'll be okay - other teams will lose more.

in what sense..cant be greater numbers. The better the team then aqrguably the better the player selected but in terms of relative effect on each team youd think it much the same unless a sperstar defects.. I just cant see more than one marqee player being nabed if that. ANy half way decent team will be circling the wagons !!

I hope so. We're gonna need him.

I don't reckon that's true. I can say, with almost complete confidence, that it's guaranteed Ricky will be a player. He has all the traits and then some... GC17 may just take a punt on other players who might be older, maybe players who have big wraps but might be injury prone... I think Ricky's one of the best kept secrets at the club. If GC17 snaffle him (likely for a bargain, as we'll probably not get what we should in return) they'll win out tremendously.

The element that will colour the nature and style of players sought by GC will I think depend on the picture used to sell it ( the club ) as successful to budding memers and associated benefactors.

If they, GC expect serious results inside of 5 years then they will have to spend up and BUY a core of a team. If this the case then some seriously good players will go from clubs.

In that respect they are already seriously good players and not ones with 'promise' etc. No offence to Ricky but he's not in that category yet.. A few years in future possibly.

I can see that you would want to have players of Petterd's ilk in development but even GC wont have ALL the money on earth. SO much will go to the top 3-4 bought souls that I feel we will be fairly safe and might fly under the radar some ;)

Considering his life was saved by our medical staff, he may want to play out his career at Melbourne.

It would be a big mistake to let Petterd go. Good footy player aren't easy to come by so when we get them we need to hold onto them. With a forward line hopefully boasting Jurrah, Watts, Butcher, Maric and Wona and possibly Martin I think Miller's the obvious choice. I don't want to see him go but probably better than losing Petterd.

I'm really glad we've bottomed out now!

We need to negotiate with GC17 & the players to ensure that they get the player that we're happy to let go, that way we can give that player more game time to increase his value. Petterd would be ideal imo, I think we could eventually cover him and his perceived value is quite high, we would get a very good draft pick in return.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
