Clash Jumper

Now is it just that I have missed something or were Melbourne working on a clash jumper that still hasn't been announced along with sponsors. I mean what are the staff at Melbourne doing that aren't related to the game side of things ??

I really think that the clash jumper is a secondary issue to that of the major sponsor.

I would imagine that once we have this announcement up and going, then everything else will follow.

Perhaps chosing the Clash Jumper is one way the club could try a woo a potential sponsor (a very small part of the package!)

That is along my line of thinking because a naming sponsor will want to see the product that their name will be on

Based on last years debacle I could not see any sponsor beyond a funeral parlor signing for it.

If a sponsor aint going to sponsor the main jumper then they are not likely to sponsor a disregarded clash guernsey.

I was thinking a bit about this the other day, and I decided that the club is probably waiting for a sponsor so that, when they unveil the new clash jumper, there will be a sponsor on it. But then again, I thought they'd hold off the naming of the captain until we had a sponsor.

........so we are not going to have a new clash jumper?

I seem to remember Scwabby saying at soe poi that THAT clash jumper was buried never to reappear. Not sure when it was..but I was there..lol.

Most likely the clash jumper wil appear during NAB preseason.

Cant see how or what difference any sponsor will have on design..as the parameters are far more reaching than a brand.

time will tell..

patience :)

Yes i do recall him saying it will be banished as the club wants to return to red and blue or something like that. i personally enjoy the designs with the mfc on the front as it looks distinguished and not like that rubble last year. Unfortunaltely I bought one in my search for a melbourne jumper in tasmania, it's like trying to find osama bin laden.

Do we even "unveil" it? I thought we just turned up to games wearing it.

We unveil it.

May as well put it on ice while we're looking for a sponsor.

It can then be unveiled with a logo.

If a sponsor aint going to sponsor the main jumper then they are not likely to sponsor a disregarded clash guernsey.

...except we've canned the silver clash jumper.

I hate it. Not really a big fan of the logo but that with a red background. Prefer the blue training top we are using with the small mfc logo in front.

better then last years at least, I actually don't mind it, I think the issue with the old demon logo jumper was that there was too much blue in it and it still clashed. Hence they should use royal blue in these jumpers.

IMO this logo is better:

Yes i Like this Logo & wish we could Keep it. Although i hate all clash

Jumpers & wish they would all disappear. I Don't Believe the arguements. I watched Black & White Footy Replays in the Mud & still knew who was who!!

As much as I prefer the logo you guys have there, it's a massive improvement on last years farce.

That said, I think you'll find that is just a training jumper and not the clash jumper - like how years ago we had guys wearing the old jumpers with LG as the sponsor in different fluro colours.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
