I'm going to say Ryan O'Keefe is quite GREEDY in his beliefs!

While I realise that he deserves to earn quite a bit of money as an AFL footballer. He needs to remember there are people going around earning around only $50,000 a year or even less and still living their lives.

What makes him so special that he needs to get $400,000+ a year? If he really, really wanted to come back to his family he could of and he could of joined the Melbourne Demons.

Anyways, it doesn't matter now. He signed on with the Sydney Swans again and its all over and we need to move on.

It looks like its going to be "slim pickings" in this year's Pre-Season Draft.

When two or three parties meet to do deals..they do whatever they can and will to best their situations. These deals come down to the moment on whats good or bad at that time Little sway will be given to the past..its al labou t NOW . Carlton KNOW this..and play at the table in this manner.

Yes it was a gratuitous put down, but hey it's the media and it was of our own making. We were the ones that advertised we thought the money he was asking for was reasonable, but it was doubtful that we could afford him.

I think the thing that got up the collective noses of Swans fans and Sydney media alike was that he had already agreed to terms with the team management many weeks before any of this toing and froing started, and as such went back on his word to the club and then upped his asking rate by over a hundred grand per year.

He changed management mid-stream and therefore changed allegiances, and that is when he really started to look towards the Melbourne based clubs.

The fact that he has re-signed with the Swans probably means that simply no-one else was going to match what were exhorbinant pay claims, especially at this time, and that if he went into the PSD we were the only Melbourne team in the first four selections in his city of choice, and couldn't or wouldn't afford him.
