No you haven't you muppet.

You have said many times before you have only watched him on video you lier.

Stop talking crap.

You have never seen him live.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

The whole football world knows we are taking Watts.

We will not be taking a wonky athletic freak show who is slower than Watts over 20 metres.

Get over it.

You are starting to sound like a twisted spoilt little know-it-all, when in fact you are so far out of your depth it is embarrassing amd i am tired of reading your dribble.

Naita will be lucky to play 1 or 2 games next year.

Watts however will play the majority of games for the MFC next year as a key forward, mark my words.

The sooner you realise this and the sooner you stop bagging our new recruit the better.

Pull your head in ya muppet!!!

I never said I have seen him live you 'muppet'.

have seen plenty of footage and watched the entire U18 Carnival Final where he choked on the big stage.

In the same game a 200cm freak of nature was doing things that someone of his size have never been able to do.

Naitanui is the obvious chpoise for number 1.

And just so everyone knows, Haydo is a relative of Jack Watts.

That was proven over on Demonology.

Dude Did u watch the same grand final un18 as me?

Both Watts and Naita did not have great games.

Watts kicked 2 i think?

and Naita really didnt impress me at all, i had huge expectations for him before that game and he really disappointed me.

Not sure how Naita could have dissappointed anyone in that game.

His ruckwork was out of this world, and his second efforts were amazing.

Kicked a brilliant goal off the burst, and also had the play of the game where he met a bouncing ball at full tilt on the 50, turned Michael Hurley inside out and delivered an unbelievable 30 metres handpass onto the chest of a teammate running into goal, who duly converted.

Just before everyone gets their hopes up that we have drafted a star forward in the mould of Carey, Riewoldt, Brown etc

Watts will be a utility at AFL level, and will either turn into the next James Hird or another Aaron Fiora type.

If we draft him, you better hope it is the former.

So you're saying he "won't" be a KP forward. How could you possibly know that? I agree we don't know what kind of player he'll be (Garland is a defender right now, didn't see that coming) but you can't say a player WON'T be something...

Naitanui is the obvious chpoise for number 1.

Say it with me Y_M.... YOUR obvious choice.... YOUR.

*sigh*

Please stop posting at demonland.

:P Naita had no influence on that game. McKernan and Vickery killed him. Naita was left behind virtually caught out jogging on the spot.

Sheer exaggerated incorrect comments such as an "unbelievable 30m handpass" are just fantasy and are unsubstantiated claims that didn't take place. These comments just go to prove you like to unsettle those to suit yourself.

Go look at his Youtube highlights then get back to me.

 I've seen the highlights, they're not that impressive.

PS. there's no 30m handpasses either, only Hodge can do that.

The [censored] who made the highlights left it out.

Here it is in its own video - http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=qyvEhHEyXb0&...feature=related

Would like to see Jack Watts do that.

get ya hand off it naita is 196cm tall not 200!! and naita only had 8 disposals for the game he was the one who choked considering the much hyped and surrounding that carlton would have picked him if he was eligible for last years draft.

watts still played a part in the team by kicking two goals and taking good strong pack marks.

Yze Magic why dont you do everyone a favour and stop posting here. Everyone is sooo sick of your childish rubbish and stupid topics with even worse arguments. Why waste your time and everyone elses filling up this board with crap. Everybody dislikes you and thinks your a [censored]. No one wants to read your posts. Every time i see a topic that looks interesting i have to check if it was started by you before i read it. Coz if it was started by you then its not worth reading. Go get a hobby man....

re: Yze not so magic.

That one bit of play was alright. Made Hurley to look as slow as what he is lol.

But those highlights must have missed McKernan picking up 8 or so touches in the first quarter while Naitanui stood as a loose man in defense on the other side of the ground to the play. Probably didn't show him taking a bounce 2m in front of a Metro player then getting caught holding the ball 20m out from goal either.

YES, his ruckwork early was very good, as was his second efforts. But Vickery figured him out pretty quick which means players like Lade, Cox, Ottens etc will swallow him whole unless he can pull out a couple more tricks other than trying to jump on players heads.

You complain about Cameron Bruce's kicking yet Naitanui is about 20x worse, you complain about Jamar not doing enough around the ground and not taking enough marks - Naitanui is the same.

If you want to make a Hird/Fiora comparison about Watts why not make a Franklin/O'hAilphin comparison with Naitanui?

He's as big of a risk as any other player in the draft, even more so as a top 5 draft pick because he's bound to face extra scrutiny from the media and more importantly fans too

I'm stating the obvious but Magic is clearly a clown. Who is only rubbishing Watts cause we don't look like getting Warnock. If we were getting Warnock he would be praising Watts and rubbishing Naita and the sad thing is that he will go on and on about it for the next 2 months.

For those who saw a fair chunk of his year live, what did his sprinting look like?

The athletic stats really don't mean ANYWHERE NEAR as much as his footy brain, his ability to lead strongly, keep balance etc etc

And from what I've seen, it's his turning circle, hands, and engine that set him apart... not how fast he runs.

As good as it is to hear he has genuine pace, it's another thing altogether to see if he can find the space to use it on the pitch.

His ability to get around opposition is very impressive for a big guy, and he has a lovely kick.

Does anyone know if Riewoldt has suss kicking at U18 level? Or it just got worse?

Guest Dr Jekyl & Mr Hyde

I've been watching Jack now for the past 2 years - and while he is impressive, I've got him down on my list at #6.

Yes he's quick,

Yes he's agile,

Yes he's athletic,

Yes he can hit targets,

... YES he's soft.

I've got my question marks over whether he'd have the grunt to play as a KP player in the AFL.

His kicking was ok, similar to now

See: Andrew Walker

If Clubs beleive you have the atheltic abillity and have presence, skill etc - then they'll still take a punt on you and back themselves in with trying to correct your kicking action, it has worked with Andrew Walker, Riewoldts goal kicking is another story though.

This year it will be interesting to see if anybody takes a punt on the atheltic 198 cm Steven Gaertner .. one of the worst kicks I've ever seen, but has the atheltic side and size locked down.

not every afl player has 'grunt', and not everyone in the hawks lineup has grunt

xav ellis, clinton young, cyril rioli just to name a few

it's like cale morton- he will be a star but he doesn't have 'grunt'- so too will Jack watts

Ah yes.

I too have determined the entire career path of young Mr. Watts, based on youtube evidence.

He won't be a key forward at AFL, he'll be specialist veterinarian for Andean Camelids.

I'll give a little more credence to the guy who has been watching him a few years.

Soft is a tricky one. Hard to know exactly what will happen as he matures.

An argument for Captain Brock over Green or Bruce? Not because the others squib or don't go when it's their turn, but because Mclean lives and breathes hardness and would demand it from everyone as the main currency of respect.

Also an argument for getting Todd Viney around the place.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
