Then what's with the 2 alternatives we've been voting on at melbournefc.com.au?

Despite rumours to the contrary..there is NO clash between these jumpers. Some may point out the obvious syd melb yoke similarity. Amazingly these teams have played for decades without incident. The mind will ignore the red and distinguish one team as white..and the other as blue..No clash !!

Personally I have never seen any problem between the Fitzroy/Lion guernsey and our trad red and blue !!

I can only assume Brisbane is the issue. According to the AFL we clash with Carlton, Essendon, Fremantle, St Kilda and Brisbane. The clash with Brisbane is very debatable as I have never seen a problem with it.

Here's hoping something will be done about it.

If we wear blue shorts, and Sydney wear white shorts, there won't be a clash.

There isn't a clash anyway  !!!

The whole "clash" theory has been conjured up by the AFL to give teams an excuse to make another jumper that increase public merchandise sales slightly. They have another product to sell.

Yeah, but if that is the case calabrese, and I don't doubt it, why do the AFL insist on jumpers the fans hate?

Try telling Vlad's lap dog A.Anderson that one. I think he needs his eyes checked. I wonder what they have in store when Jim says "with a Blue demon profile", got any ideas BB? Clint? Perhaps the recent Demon. Maybe BB's avatar!!! AS long as it's a RED clash strip - and not white - I'll be :)

i think the swans should be made to wear whit shorts for away games, im a bit of a traditionalist and hate it when teams play against sydney in syndey, but wear their home shorts- i dont care how crap it looks on the swans, bring back the white shorts!!! like geelong last year in the Gf wore white shorts when they were the 'home side'

Sydney dont wear white shorts & havent since Lockett was seen in white shorts. When Melb have played Syd over the last few years the away team wear hooped socks.

With Jim saying that we will wear Red, maybe the board & the club have listened to the faithfull! (One can only hope)

If we wear blue shorts, and Sydney wear white shorts, there won't be a clash.

I'm with you all the way on this one. They are all as different as chalk and cheese.

Its obvious to me and anybody else that their is no clash

What i find interesting is what exactly is the agenda of the AFL for their justification of requiring an away strip ?

Can one of you bubbleheads out there "knock up a mock up" for us on your computational DEvice, so we can see what Nudge is imagining?

I'd do it, but I'm too busy with Bub, QueenC and Rhino, nockin our heads against Bubs brick wall, on another matter !!

If this is true about the red taking over, then it's a very good sign.

When the silver came in, it was one of a limted set of options and no consideration was given to other feedback, we ended up with the 'best' of a very bad lot.

Sounds like a bit of feedback came through (amazing what a few events with members where the president talks to enthusiastic supporters can do) and it was decided the white just wasn't going to work.

I'm cautiously thinking this is phenomenal news. Leadership flexibility and responsiveness to the fans! OMG!
