Robert Warnock

Yep. You would think Connolly and Schwab will be catching up with those they know at Freo. Telling them to deal "with us!"

edit: "Please!"

I thought you were going to get him in the PSD for nothing? Why would you trade with Freo? Melbourne hold all the aces remember.

Blues win race for Fremantle ruckman

"DESPITE not playing finals football for seven years, Carlton yesterday scooped its rivals again, with young Docker Robert Warnock nominating the Blues as his new club of choice.

Melbourne and Richmond are likely to miss out on Warnock after the 21-year-old's manager, Colin Young, yesterday informed Carlton general manager of football operations Steven Icke that his client had chosen the Blues. "

Brilliant. Looks like we lost another one to Carlton. How the [censored] are they fitting this in their cap?

Either way job well done Melbourne. We hold zero respect.

P.S this quote made me lol hard

"I believe his decision to want to join us was not about the money, but more about getting a better opportunity to play on a regular basis and having more game time," Swann said.

NOT ABOUT MONEY :P

And another one bites the dust... :(

Carlton are starting to look rather Ominous

As annoyed and gutted as i am, i think back to only a few years ago when a team down the highway was complaining about their inability to attract a big name foward to come down to their club and play for them. In the meantime, they went about their business of develpoing their own list of young players while they waited patiently. Who would want to go and play down at Geelong? was the question being asked.

Eventually they got their man, Brad Ottens. And the rest, as they say is history.

I hate Carlton, I've always hated Carlton way more than anyone else. I've never understood why everyone hates Collingwood, what have they ever done? Hating Collingwood is like hating the bulldogs, why hate a perennial loser? Carlton on the other hand, they are champion cheats run by a succession of corporate criminals with background support from the Melbourne mafia. Scumbags in suits, that's Carlton. I just pray that their obvious cheating is discovered before they steal another flag.

To make up the daily double - Alwyn Davey says no to Demons

No loss in either case IMO.

Warnock - if you sit down and look at any of the games he's played you might see potential but $400k for 4 years (not about $ - of course!)? The same people who were complaining about Meesen and his 3 year contract wanted us to throw in our lot with that?

feh

Alwyn Davey - exactly what we needed?

Of course he would have been ideal in a pocket or a HFF when we already have his brother, Aussie, Maric and Valenti.

The Warnock saga has an interesting chronology.

Yesterday, we read that "Carlton football operations manager Steven Icke will hold an urgent meeting with Warnock's manager Colin Young in Perth this weekend."

Today (and I had to check my calendar to make sure that it wasn't the weekend yet), we read that Warnock's manager "Colin Young, yesterday informed Carlton general manager of football operations Steven Icke that his client had chosen the Blues." - Blues win race for Fremantle ruckman.

The point is they didn't need to talk at the weekend at all because money talks.

Carlton CEO Greg Swann says -

"I believe his decision to want to join us was not about the money, but more about getting a better opportunity to play on a regular basis and having more game time."

And if you're in the vicinity of Vi$y Park today, watch out for the giant pig levitating over where the centre circle should be.

god dam it.

This is starting to really get too me, always missing out and bloody carlton this is crap! I want to see their player payments and salary cap!

I hope Carlton and Freo completely screw each other over and fail to come to terms on a trade and Warnock joins his brother at MFC on our terms. :D

someone forgot to read the script and mucked up :lol::lol:

We just need to understand in the big world of shifty deals and underhandedness...we're rank amateurs !!

This has obviously been wrapped up for some lil while !! <_<

Quite true, Jack. Carlton, Melbourne and Freo knew at least as early as Tuesday that Warnock would nominate Carlton:

This just in!

Robbie Warnock is set to sign for Visy and do part-time work for Carlton.

(Amcor would protest, but they want a piece of the action.)

And:

Will Carlton want White now that they think they have Warnock?

he has pretty much just put money in front of his family! what a [censored]!

[censored] you carlton!!

[censored] you carlton!!

How so..he's coming back to Melbourne . Will be near his family..Just not playing for the team we preferred. Get over it. Its done

He gets both..a decent whack and hes back home.. well done for Robert.

Well I am glad in a way, I was beginning to think we were going to pay way over his market price for him.

I just hope Freo play hard ball with the cheats and get them to trade away their first round pick. And if they refuse then warnock is stuck.

C'mon Freo go hard at them, don't go limp now, you can force carlton into a very uncomfortable position.

Well I am glad in a way, I was beginning to think we were going to pay way over his market price for him.

Isnt what Carlton is offering him the "market price"?

Unfortunately until we have our act together as a club, this kind of thing will continue to happen.

It's annoying because we do need a decent ruckman.

Before anyone gets too irate or upset or despondent..or further unrealistic ( possibly ) answer this quick question.

Just for a moment..pretend your not the rampant Demon supporter you're bound to be.. Pretend, for the moment youre an up and comer looking to land a decent contract and establish yourself in the comp. Your looking for a new club.

Tell me why you would pick Melbourne ?? Be honest...why ?

Because I was more likely to get a game as first ruck here?

answer has weight.. agreed

is that all though ?

( just playing the Demon's advocate..lol )

young gun players coming through.

Tell me who was attracted to Carlton prior to Judd coming there. Once the ball starts rolling, players want to go there.

Hope to hell Freo demand top compensation and make them pay. don't reckon pick 24 will get them signing him over.

of course - a terrible backline with no real emerging stars... so no matter how many goals you kick at one end, the other end will always be a problem!!

a midfield that relies on judd to win the hardball and the likes of murphy and stevens to paint the fences.... also, they like to run the one way!!

for a team that has had so many top picks, it is amazing that a player like carazzo that absolutely murders the ball can finish in your top 5 best and fairest!!

now we play the waiting game - Sticks FC will have to do better than pick 24!!

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
