  1. Haha. You should try being a Freo supporter. Then you'll really see what it's like to suck at recruiting/trading.
  2. If you trade for him, you would have to come to an agreement with him first over terms. If you draft him in the National or Pre-season drafts, he can nominate his terms and by drafting him, you agree to them.
  3. It's very hard to really determine what he's worth, given most of it is simply on potential and not on what he has produced. If you compare him to Aaron Sandilands at the same age, he is light years ahead, but whether he ever improves to that extent or not remains to be seen. I'd be reasonably happy to get Carlton's 2nd round pick and a young player, but I still think they'd be getting a bargain. If they offered up pick 6, then I'd be packing Robbie's bags and driving him to the airport myself.
  4. I'd prefer to NOT have the number 1 pick - firstly, it's a lot of pressure on the recruiters to get it right and secondly the pressure on the player is enormous. Given that Naitanui is so highly rated yet still has some massive holes in his game, I'm almost hoping that he's gone before Freo get a pick. Oh, the Solomon trade really wasn't that bad either. Sure, Essendon did well with the picks they got, but they were both late picks so who knows what Freo would have taken. He's been a very, very good player for Fremanlte despite the opinions of a lot of people in the East.
  5. Fremantle aren't going to give up Warnock and pick 3 just to get pick 1. There are enough very good players for them to get one at pick 3 AND get something decent for Warnock as well. At worst, Carlton will offer their second round pick and a player. You need to remember Freo have a LOT of holes to fill, trading out more than we get back is not going to work.
  6. Can't see Freo going for it unless Carlton only offer something ridiculous. Freo need not to be mindful not only of quality, but also quantity. Trading pick 3 and Warnock for pick 1 leaves yet another hole to plugged at the end of the draft. I'd rather get Carlton's second rounder and a reasonable young player than upgrade pick 3. There is plenty of talent in the draft, and Freo will have the opportunity to get a very good player at pick 3 regardless of where Naitanui goes.
  7. I thought you were going to get him in the PSD for nothing? Why would you trade with Freo? Melbourne hold all the aces remember.
  8. So you'd like him to play for the team that finished 16th for the love of the game, when his market value is at least $300K? No wonder Juddy passed the Demons up last year.
  9. Shame there wouldn't be anyone there to watch him.

Both WA teams are cashed up. Freo have in excess of $2m available in the cap and West Coast have quite a lot available too. If Melbourne are making big $$ offers to Warnock, you couldn't blame Green looking for the $$ elsewhere. Could make for an interesting PSD.
  11. Trent Carroll played at both Freo and West Coast. Nathan was on Freo's rookie list but was discarded and ended up at Melbourne. I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell of him coming anywhere near Freo (we just sacked Farmer, why would we pick up Carroll)
  12. Obviously, but if Warnock is being offered similar opportunities both playing wise and financially to go to Carlton, he'd be silly not to look at it. He could be tapping the ball down to one of the most talented midfields in the league. Without being derogatory, unless he has a desperate desire to play with his brother, there's not a whole lot that's enticing about playing for Melbourne when you've got multiple offers in front of you.
  13. Hawthorn and Richmond are reportedly keen on Mundy, while Carlton are super keen on Warnock. Not quite sure that Melbourne will be able to lure either if they are entertaining offers from better teams. Staker and McKinley from the Eagles are both out of contract (hmm, is Staker a Vic though? maybe NSW??). Ryan Murphy and Scott Thornton (a CC favourite) are also out of contract but I think will most likely stay on a 1 year deal.
  14. belzebub, do you think Warnock can make it through a whole season as the main ruckman for any side? From what I've seen of him at Freo, I've got my doubts he can come up against the the bigger bodies of Cox, Sandilands, King, Lade etc. He has an enormous amount of potential, but is still very, very lightly built and has had some fairly major injuries. I'd think he's a good season, if not 2 away from having the size and strength to compete on a regular basis. Can you see him lasting 22 weeks doing even 60% of the ruck work?
