Always appreciate those of you that give us info about Sandy on this site

Just wondering if anyone has seen much of Bell down there? He has been out of the seniors for 3 weeks, after a very uninspiring half-season, I don't think he has been injured at all ie just poor form

Was excited about his future and wonder why he seems to have gone stale

Well, he wasn't named in the best players for Sandy yesterday which is concerning.

sorry I looked at your avatar while I was reading and all I could think was 'eh eh eeeeeeeeeh'

there's a big difference between VFL and AFL and its always a worry if an established player goes back there for little impact over several weeks

I was one who thought Belly could cut out a spot in this demon lineup. Over the past few seaons we have had a no name backline, and there was every chance he was going to cement a spot due to the lack of stability we had down back.

All of a sudden we have kids coming out of 2s locking down key roles in the backline.

At the end of last season, 2 of our promising backs were Nathan Carroll and Daniel Bell. These are now the two most likely players to be traded come seasons end.

If Belly cannot carve up the 2s, then he has little chance of breaking into the new generation of demon backmen.

Yes' he has gone backwards this season. But dont write him off just yet. He is down on confidence, and once he gets it back, watch out !

i went and he was rubbish, didnt get the footy much and when he did he turned it over. i loved him last year and throught we had a tuff nut finaly in the backline a campbell brown type, but after sundays game i think he is a long way off top level footy.

Belly has copped some very large bumps around the Head area in his Career if you remember I think he may be a little Hesitant this together with a lack of form has contributed to his present state I watched him last Sunday and it appears he is trying too hard I would like to see him play on a wing to allow him more space he has heaps of talent and I talked to Kelly OD about him he has the admiration and full confidence of the coaching staff I agree he can really play lets hope it is soon

I agree. He hasn't been right since the Ben Johnson incident. That hit knocked him for more than six. He's been second guessing constantly and seems seems more unsure of what to do prior to the incident. His application is there, I just think his head isn't.

Bell has always had issues with decision making under pressure and his lack of peripheral vision has plagued him as a footballer all through his career. He is at the cross roads.

Yes, and this has even been even more evident since the incident.

I think sometimes we underestimate what freaks these AFL Footballers really are in the areas of split-second decision making and peripheral vision on ground level coupled with the speed of the game.

I would absolutley s^!t myself out there.

Bell's capabilities in both these areas have never been freakish.

He just cannot achieve the standard required in those areas in AFL.

BTW, I dont think Bell is lacking courage at all. I have seen him on a number of occasions go without fear. He just does not read the play and choose options well.

He has had six years on the list and still has question marks on him.

I still like Belly but i'm not as gungho as i use to be.

To me he's a good lock down player for dangerous SF but offensively he needs a lot of space.

At the start of the year DB picked him out and was surprised how good he was. C'mon Bell, lift.

cj looks to have taken his spot.. now lets maybe try him forward. i think one game in the championships in under 18 level he kicked 5 goals playing half forward. the guy has pace is very quick and can take a strong grab. he is a player i believe once we find his true position i think he can become a damaging player.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
