Jeff White

Jeff White has been a fantastic player for us. He is much smaller than the average ruckman yet yet for the past ten years he has helped propel us into the finals many times. When he was playing well we were playing well. He has had to endure horrible injuries and showed tremendous courage. No, he is not the physical type ruckman who imposes himself and intimidates. That sort of aggression does not seem to be in his nature. I see him as a true professional AFL player who prepared himself physically for every season and consistently did what was asked of him and more. To see him slip out the back door without fanfare and acknowledgment would be a great travesty. Bailey is correct to experiment this year, and probably drop him on form, I hope he gets a number of good games before the season's end and we can send him off properly. Yze as well.

The last round could see quite a few retirees running around. I'm sure a send off will be arranged

Jeff White has robbed the MFC for 2 years for taking match payments .

Besides hit outs straight oppsitions chest is not even sighted.

Has never played man on man, wheen has ball stops till every one floods back.

Once was an effective player now a liability

It,s time MFC made the hard decessions and cut their losses never see successfull clubs carrying players like we do.

jeff white has earned his match payments, he may not have been as influential in the last few years but to say he has robbed the MFC for 2 years is an insult to a great servent of the club

Do you actually mean decessions (In which case its just your grammar that is pants)? Or can you just not spell?

Anyway, you put your case forward very brutally. I'll concede that White has, on the whole, been poor for the past two years, but to say he has robbed us is pretty ordinary, and an insult to what he has given us over the course of his career. Recently, some of his weaknesses have come to prominence as his strengths dwindle, but I think he is still a contributor, in some way, more often than not.

Fired up is right, hope you keep some water handy.

You make a fair point and when we look back this club has hung on to "tradeable" players far too long.

I think Robert Walls wrote an article last year about our club and it's trading options.

Most of us loved Travis but everyone agrees it was right to trade him.

Over the last 2-3 years a smarter club may well have looked closer at White, Yze, Bruce, Robertson, Green and maybe even Wheatley, Miller and Sylvia.

Although I'm a fan of the last 2 and reckon they'll be good football players for us. I think Daniher became too friendly with these older players and couldn't see the wood for the trees

Of course this is really easy in hindsight and I probably wouldh've been shocked if these players had been traded. But 2 years ago we wouldh've got some great draft picks.

White has been a great player for the club. Iti s sad to talk about the ned being near for such a talent such as White, but the truth is his time with us is nearly over.

Naita will need game time, and I assure you if we get pick #1, some ruck spots will be made for him (and possibly robbie warnock)

Farewell to Whitey, who has been a great player for us. The future begins now.

On Friday night at 6:26 I received a text from a fellow demon fan telling me that Jeff White had been dropped.

About time. This decision and the recent one to drop Yze are hopefully drawng a line in the sand in terms of the intensity and consistency expected of all our players.

The future starts now.

Go Dees.

Not sure if anyone saw it, but in yesterday's Property magazine there was an article about Jeff White selling his house in Sandringham, and in the article he was talking about his contract expiring at the end of the year and how he has always planned to retire in QLD where he has another property.

That is as close to someone indicating their impending retirement as it gets.

He was a fantastic player for our club and in general, although he has not played as well over the last few years in his hey day he was an All Aust ruckman and one of the first players picked. Is it his fault that we have no other ruckman once we traded our two next best?

Give the bloke a break for farks sake.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
