Robert Warnock

How do you expect Warnock to be racking up stats when Freo have a number one ruckman like Sandilands? To compare his stats with Cox's at the same age is a little spurious. Given more opportunity at number one he might be more impressive.

Very good point. Warnock in Sandilands' shadow may well be far different to Warnock the no. 1 ruckman. His age is a huge factor.

Sorry to be the one to burst the bubble, but I thought Robbie Warnock was in talks with Richmond and the Tigers were planning to pick him up in the trade period.

his brother has mentioned he is trying to get him to melb.

just wondering, is he a victorian boy? if not, you would think that unless he got a far superior offer than ours that he would be keen to play with his brother?

From memory they are Victorian. Didn't Warnock play for Sandy before being rookie listed by us?

Fair call, but if he is as promising as this conversation suggests we will have to give up something for him.

Spoke with some Fremantle fans on Friday night at the Saints game and they suggested that he would be heading to Melbourne.

The bloke, who had followed his career closely, said that he believe Warnock was very keen on the Demons and they would be his choice of club. Even suggested that he was hoping to fall through until the PSD and go to the Dees for free, which the bloke wasn't happy about because he belives Warnock could be a top ruckmen of the future.

So, if his mail is true, we could be getting our hands on a gem!

(Although, weren't we all led to believe this with Meesen?)

Great quote. Melbourne will have Yze and Neitz off the list at the end of the year. Probably close to a $1 Mil per year, who would you spend that money on, can't see anyone at Melbourne deserving that sort of money. Also add that the commitment to Brisbane for Johnstone finishes this year.

You add White and Bruce's will not demand as much next time their contracts are up, Melbourne have a lot of money to pay for a trade, and under the rules they MUST pay it. And with the likelihood of 1st pick in the PSD, then it is going to be interesting.

Neitz and Yze are on the veterans list and thus only part of their salaries are in the Salary Cap. From memory, half of Neitz's and a quarter, or third of Yze's.

So is White next in line for veteran status, McDonald?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
