are the seniors on TV?

They are on 1611 AM Melbourne this week - or if you aren't in Melbourne on www.radio1611.com.au

Coverage starts at 1pm and the bounce is at 2pm

I HOPE there are no technical problems for the Sunday team this week (I'm told the problem has been fixed - but I've heard that one before too many times in this industry!!!)

wonder if wheels kicked any, i told him last night he needed to so he could play 1s in the forwardline

Wheels certainly did kick one when he drifted out of defence but he's definitely a backman and probably a bit stiff to miss out on the 150 Heroes at that! He played well today and should be back in the AFL next week.

must come in next week...

Chris Johnston is just starting to play like a man.

He's starting to come of age. Be patient Johnno, your finally really starting to step-up to the plate & becoming a leader. It's a pleasure to see you play these days.

Pendlebury that played is Scotts older brother I believe. Bailey has said that players in form will be given their chance. Without seeing the games CJ has been BOG 3 of the last 4 weeks I believe and must be offered an opportunity. Can someone confirm where he is being played? Martin in the bests and Zomer kicking 3 are also promising signs for the future.

Valenti - was quite good. I don't think he was as dominant as what he has been in the past (at VFL level).

S. Martin - He was good at FB, beat his man easily and made one or two runs up the ground.

Maric - didn't see a lot of the ball, kicked a nice snap goal in the first and went close again in the last. Still needs more time to dominate at this level.

Jamar - Played really well i thought. Got his fair share of posessions, made some terrible mistakes by hand, but a majority of his posessions were effective.

Cheney - Didn't see a lot of him, came into the game in the last qtr i thought.

Meeson - Was okay. Quite agile for a big man. Jamar took the honours but i think Meeson will improve to be a better player than Jamar.

C. Johnson - BOG. Made one or two mistakes but his disposal usually was excellent.

Buckley - I thought wasn't too bad. Was good enough to be recalled.

Whelan - A step above this level. The way he played he may as well have played for Melbourne.

Carroll - Just a game from Chopper.

Weetra - Back to Sandy two's, was on the ground the whole time and barely touched it.

Holland and Newton did not play. Which means Holland may play tomorow.

The problem is that his form never seems to translate over to AFL level.

Jamar is the same becuase he is better suited to the VFL style of football.

he's never been in this kind of form though has he? i can't ever remember it... his form since being droped...

Round 5 V Bendigo: 4th best to Summers, Valenti, Crowe

Round 6 V Williamstown: Not named in best.

Round 7 V Tasmania: Best on ground.

Round 8 V Northern Bullants: 2nd best on ground to Yze.

Round 9 v Collingwood: Best on Ground.

Form like this needs to be rewarded. And I believe Chris will justify his selection once he finally pulls on the red and blue...

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
