Jack Watts - Confirmed #1 Pick in 2008 Draft - Booyah!!!

You just have to hear Naita on both occasions he has been asked publically about it. He says he very much wants to stay home. He didnt like the attention he got while here in melbourne for un18 final.

Cale Morton is different kettle of fish mate. He has his brothers here last year, now as he is perth, just celebrated a huge family function to farewell his parents as they are moving to melbourne now. So basically his family live in melbourne now.

So there is my proof. YM, again would you want to draft a player you know wants to go home as soon as he can?

Wait a sec.. you call that proof?

Well im calling it something!

When you hear a guy talk about the question involved he usually speaks his mind and you can tell if they are telling the truth?

What else would you call proof?

AGAIN i ask Y_M - Would you draft someone to YOUR club that will not be there more than a handful of years?

No I wouldnt.

Luckily Naitanui hasnt said he will play 2 years at the club that drafts him then go home.

from the outset Watts doesnt have as much potential (as Nata) and isnt the best player at this point in time (Rich), so why the hell would you pick him!!!

Clearly you would take Nata or Rich depending on your willingness to gamble

All Watts offers atm is; vic kid and plays forward which melb needs as much as we could use dominant mids

You say this based on what? Media hype? 2 mins of Youtube highlights??

Unless you have watched hours of all 3 of these kids playing you can't make that sort of assessment

So a 17 year old kid who wins the best player at the U/18 championship, and who grew up playing basketball as his first choice sport doesn't have much potential.......

No i havnt watched them play since U12 and nothing is certain, that is the idea of a rookie draft. But with the media and scouting reports making these assertions, it is fair claim. Why is it that WCE and Freo have stated there interests in Rich and Nata respectively (and its not because there WA boys forever, thats crap).

So every1 is on the Watts bandwagon just because hes kicked a game winning goal and the Larke medal. That definately earns him the spot light over the other blokes who have been heavily scrunized since last years U18 championships

Nothing is known for certain, you draft based on potential and existing talent

no he doesn't..

he has A SHITLOAD of potential

and also a bucket load of skill

But has he shown he likes a contest. I hear not.

MFC has a recent history of 'silky skills'. Give me someone who likes a contest, as well as some skills.

Vickery is the safest bet!

Jack Watts is definately firming stronger than Ron Jeremy at this point.

I hope your referring to early Ron, towards the end not even viagra was helping him. He had to hold the base and squeeze to make it resemble firm.

Now that we all know for certain that Jack will be picked up with our 1st pick, the next most important decision to make is what number to give him.

The following numbers are avilable next season:

4

9

13

28

34

43

I would like to make the call that he takes over the famous #9, even though the jumpers worn be champions of the club are usually retired for a year.

If not Jack should definately then take #4 and the #9 should go to Chris Johnson.

But number 9 is my preference.

very true.

chris johnson isn't 'soft' but is used like an outside player

Sorry, but he's as soft as butter.

Pretty sure Buddy and Jack are exactly the same height at DC and were both in 10th height position.

So he did make a top 10 list ;)

CJ for pick 18 in a heartbeat They can take Bell as well to seal the deal.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
