dam i know i should not be saying this with rd 10 coming up but i really really want this kid!

Jeff White is on his last legs, Jamar although i like him a lot and i think he has been ok this year he still is not great and Paul Johnson well i think he is better in other positions on the ground.

Do you think this kid could play as a forward too?

We don't have a midfield jet. Rich is a jet.

Naitanui is an athletic freak with queries about his kicking and football smarts. I would rather a champion onballer any day, thanks.

I'd even take Michael Hurley from the Northern Knights over Naitanui. We could do with an A-grade key position prospect more than the aforementioned athletic ruckman with questionable kicking.

You can never have too many good midfielders.

atm i'm in Richs camp but there's still 4-5 months for NiKNAT or anyone to stake a claim.

Luckily for us we need a ruckman, gun midfielder and a KPP, so regardless of who we end up with we'll be happy.

Correct weight. :)

We'd be mad not to take Naitinui.

There were 4 blokes who thought L. Franklin was suspect as well.

Yes, but none had queries over his football smarts or his kicking ability - merely over his temperament. All of them recognised Franklin's god-given talent.

I'm not interested in recruiting an undersized AFL ruckman with suspect kicking and suspect football smarts, regardless of how high he can jump or how fast he can run.

we need a ruckman?

we have:

white (I know probably last year or two)

jamar

johnson

meeson

we need another one? I'm gonna put some faith into Meeson being our number 1 very soon, for the lifetime of his remaining career.

We definately need a FF, and another gun midfielder wouldn't go astray. Judd would have helped, but we all know what happened there.

Essendon will have to make this decision not us.

They are looking worse by the week and we are not.

I go for Nat personally, for a myriad of reasons - some not football related.

But, as we can see with our future CHF Morton - you have a top 5 pick, you have a good player.

I've been on record as being pretty excitied about Natainui however I still want to see how they all go in the u/18 championships and remaining games before mkaing a decision. I'm just still shitty that abc2 are no longer showing the games from the west.

i am leaning towards rich or hurley. without having seen anything my judgement is not nessecarily valid, but i personally believe a gun KPP is the most important followed by a gun midiflder. ruckmen have their worth, but i think great mids make a ruck look better.similarly, mids have to have someone to kick it too.

i dont think our midfield is our weak point, and i cant imagine there being many more KPP ready over the next 2-3 years that arent snapped up by a new club...

I think giving your own midfielders 'first option' is highly desirable. The "freak" that is Naitanui might be a big plus in that regard.

    MORE FIERCE by Meggs

We’re back!  Winning the last three matches has recaptured our Demon spirit and, with superstar players returning from rehab, our Season 2024 dreams are not over yet.   So come along 5.05 pm Saturday afternoon to watch this Round 9 ladder-defining match at the Field of Dreams. Expect the Tigers to be fierce, but surely the Demons will be more fierce. Playing conditions are expected to be a dry 15 degrees with a typically gusty Cranbourne wind. The media opprobrium of the ill-consi

    IN FRONT by Meggs

In this must-win clash between Melbourne 11th on the ladder and St Kilda 8th, it was the Demons who were in front all day to win in a hard-fought Round 8 clash to make it three in a row to keep theit slim finals chances alive. A good crowd of enthusiastic footy families for week 2 of Pride Round had gathered.  The full pews in the well-appointed RSEA Park grandstand provided excellent viewing.   The Saints won the toss and elected to kick to the southern end favoured by a strong 2-3 g

    THE TRADING CHRONICLES 02

Part 2: Watching grass grow by Whispering Jack Critics of test cricket (and I’m not one of them) will often claim the sport is excruciatingly boring: that following a five day match is much like watching grass grow. However, the longest form of that game has nothing on the first week of the AFL trade period when it comes to inducing sleep among those in the football public who follows this process in its somnolent moments. The week gone by has been no exception. Only two player trades

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Meggs

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. St Kilda missed the finals last season on pe

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised
